Once again lots of disconnection and reconnections for NEST. I dont want to call Zerodha as all I would be asked is to check my Internet connection. Frankly, this is getting frustrating now. Only solace is that I am paper trading these days so I am not losing anything. If by the time I decide to come back to real trade, this NEST trader does not start behaving, I will need to think of what I shoulddo. Two options I can think of : a) Switch back to NOW b) Switch over to some other broker.
:gun2:
I came here to check if mine was a one-off case.

If it was just me, I would have written an email or called them.

Since there are others too facing similar issue ...... :( :( :(

If ZERODHA is very serious about their services, I strongly recommend them to talk to MT4 guys.

MT4 is trading terminal used by many forex brokers like OCTAFX. Its super fast and truly international as it is stable now and used by many top notch companies.

Else they may contact many other companies who offer their own softwares.

Zerodha guys can also see GCI MT4 terminal , they are offering Reliance, Airtel, Tatamotors, Infosys etc shares for trading.

So I cant see any reason why it cant be customized for Indian stock market needs. One can download it from here http://www.gcitrading.com/mtdemo.htm and open a demo account from with in the terminal itself and check.

I heartily wish MT4 to be used by indian stock brokers one day.
As BPR put it correctly, MT4 doesn't have exchange trading capability.

MT5 has, it can be connected to exchanges, but here are the issues:

1. There is no option trading available.

2. Metaquotes the parent doesn't let you modify anything, and exchanges in India needs a lot of modification before a front end is approved. Simple things like 2FA authentication is also not possible.

We did give it a long shot, wasted 6 months trying to make it happen.

But the good news is that, our new platform, we are calling it as "EVO", should have most of all the features available on MT5

Guys I think, everyone is looking at us using a magnifying glass, there has been no issues as such today. I am looking at the platform continuously and placing trades/orders to see if everything is ok.

you have no idea what you are talking about. MT4 is designed primarily for FOREX bucket shops. If it was allowed in India, traders would kill their brokers.

Thank god , SEBI/NSE doesn't allow it and hopefully never will allow it.

Zerodha would never even consider using MT4.
