Try running ZT alone for a while, see if it makes a difference. Also, before starting, clear out your cookies and temporary files. Maybe it will make a difference.
TP

u last point makes great sense - every day before u start ZT/NOW/ODIN/Trade Tiger, clear ur cookies and temp internet files. this will reduce the clutter and also frees up some valuable resources in ur system. use a good system cleaner - if u cud not find any good sw then u can use ATF ( google it)

running ZT alone is not the issue. if u r accessing safe sites , then u can even disable ur av ( which is never recommended) . look at ur system and see what process is occupying most of the mem. if it is not so necessary - then just shut/kill that process. it frees up scarce mem resources and will run ur system optimal.

issue of ZT running slow - mainly is attributed to the speed of the net connection. look there also. try to use a wired connection instead of wireless connection. wired connection is far better than wireless connection specially in case of trading ( this u can test by viewing any youtube video - if it is buffering for a long time then ur net speed is low. try to improve there)

dear sr114, ur answer/ explanation is common .no specific intention..we know/done the "time pass" suggestion and ur suggestion.. but not solved,
and presently i am using another broker "nest terminal" for mcx.its work fine without issues..

where is the bug in sw, we dont able to findout deeply, wghat we face the issue in sw..noted and transferd it to zerodha..
i am also used "now" with zerodha, its works fine , no doubt it..

but present issues is ZT.. so..

ur sys work well, so u dont worry about it..

happy trading...
Portcity

i started using NOW when it was just launched - i started from Aug 2009 . those days - NOW was not even recommended by brokers also. and i found that NOW was more stable.

Nest Trader is used for a long time - its a commendable product from Omnesys - just use it - its more stable. only issue is the net connection

if u use Nest Trader with a dedicated VPN - u will never ever face this issue - as the speed in VPN is maintained all along the day and in our net connection there is the fluctuation in speed. whenever this issue of updation u face - try to reconcile ur terminal - and it will be ok

use ZT befikar, bindaas - its more advanced , more stable than NOW. even some irritating issue of choosing the ISP or early terminal locking is not present in ZT.

so without any issue u can use ZT ( its my personal opinion and i stand by that - ZT is more user friendly and advanced than NOW and my opinion is based on actully using the ZT terminal.)

also never ever try to use the NEST Plus stuff while u r running ZT/NOW - it slows down the system and ZT/NOW also

NOW is stable enough. Only rarely does it hang up, very very rarely. It's light on system resources, and I am running a lot of other stuff on my PC. So, if ZT takes up more resources then... I don't know. Presently for NSE it's ok. Maybe I'll decide when (and if :)) I start commodities.

If you are not using Nest plus, then you have to use some other software for charting, so why overload the system ?? That is my logic for not upgrading yet.

You are right, NOW is hassle free , Sometimes I run it from my flash drive when I am on other computers.

looking at the system resources - i found that NOW and ZT uses more or less same mem - more or less. so both of them are light and robust.

i also use some more stuff along with ZT - the data capture util, ami along with the opera ( opera is more resource hungry) and none of them is not that light in mem usgae

its ur decision to migrate to ZT or using NOW - but i posted what i have found.

Yes you can and then convert it back to NRML if you intend to keep it overnight..

http://www.zerodha.com/z-connect/blog/view/zt-position-conversion

Cheers..
If I do the NRML to MIS conversion of my position of today's trade only , how much time it will take to get the 50% margin released in MCX ?

Also, Say I am maintaining a NRML overnight positions for last 3 days ...today I want to convert it into MIS and get some margin released to take position in other commodities.....is it possible in MCX ? Will there be any issue ?

When you convert NRML to MIS, be it today or a position u r holding from many days, the margin blocked will reduce by 50% immediately..

Yes for your second question as well, you need to make sure that you convert back to NRML if you intend to hold it to the next day..
