Hi zerodha

Do have a look at these queries of mine and kindly answer them

P.S.= Ignore question 3....I have found the answer from menu itself:clap:
We're sorry for having missed your queries the first time around. Thanks for being persistent. :)

1. Simple spreads on Futures are available to trade on the exchange. When loading contracts for NFO, use the dropdown for 'Normal' and select 'SPREAD'. This will load a spread for the first month and second month contracts. You can choose whichever one you want and trade. The margins required for this are the same as holding one lot.

2. We send you a daily margin update on your back office personal ledger for futures. You can view the margins here. For writing options, simply put, you need the exchange stipulated SPAN plus exposure margin. However, the margins vary in a very complex manner depending on what the strike price is, so you would do better by checking with us before writing faraway options.

3. To create a spread order, you can press Ctrl+Shift+F1. Alternatively, you can load the spread contracts into your market watch and place your order as you desire.

4. NOW automatically connects back to the server if there is a temporary drop in Internet connectivity. You can press Ctrl+F5 and do a refresh broadcast.

Cheers... :)

hi Zerodha

For, last two trading sessions, I too faced problems as NOW hanged many times and rates stopped refreshing. I read that a new version of NOW is to be launched, any update.

Also, I would like to mention that I have a broadband connection of Airtel (512Kbps) & I use icharts for viewing charts on same machine and that might be reason for slower performance of NOW. I can't trade without seeing charts, and so the only solution I see is to have a real time data feed from Zerodha's NOW to Amibroker. Please expedite the issue, and at least launch Beta version at the earliest.

Thanks for your reply:thanx:.....Please give me few clarifications please
1. In your first point...you have mentioned "The margins required for this are the same as holding one lot."....Suppose I do a spread trade...

Buy Nifty may fut & sell Nifty june future.......

MARGIN = 30000 ( approx margin as of today per lot) for both legs combined

OR

MARGIN= 30000....for each leg....i.e. total = 60000.

I think it should be first.....

2. Regards the margin...Are you sure the margin required by NSE is equal to one future lot for spread trade..If we put 30000 margin for one spread trade then this is a very low return trade:(.....30000 means 600 pts in nifty futures...Basis risk of 600 pts:annoyed:.......I am sure you guys must be doing spread trades as you all are traders yourself......How do you guys manage it?

3. In the DAILY MARGIN SHEET , I found by logging into backoffice....there is a column " SPREAD MARGIN N MONTH" which has value of 1.02 for NIFTY.....What does that column indicate?

Regards
Gaurav

The new version of NOW should be launched by the end of this month. We are also eagerly awaiting for it.

About the data feed and also charting, we are working on it. Hopefully, we will have the beta version up and running by the first week of May. :) Fingers crossed.
