No Lasty, i am not offence by your posting.

What I think that one can start with Zerodha with small amount only and keep large or no trading portfolio with other big and establish broker. Since big broker has more repution risk and will not bad his name if some thing go wrong, also big broker will has risk management team or software so he will not burst if there is some disasster in the market.

I do not know how Zerodha manage risk and what control he has. I understand it is small team of a less people so if they do a small mistake without control than they can be in problem. See if some big offline customers of Zerodha defaluts on payment because of large losses due to market crash (similary to 2008 crash) then how will zerodha survive if they cannot pay from his own pocket becuase he is small.

With only online customer there is no problem, but the problem can be create by offline customer and also because of their proptieiry tradings. Because such brokers will do lot lot bigger propritery trades. There is no limit for them how much position to take or not, so this is a risk for them and so for thier customers also. For big brokers, there is a limit and control team on propriety trades which is done within this limit only.

Thank you.

Re: new cheapest broker is here. Zerodha

How is the experience of people who has trading with Zerodha. I think since this broker is new one, he will first give good serives. As he is replying to all quarries here only and in nice way. Only when the customers becomes large, thier service will be testies.

I think he sounding very nice and goody goody so I am afraid of such behavier, also he does not have any office at other places, so the Indian mentality will not trust such model. But yes he is cheap so one can put very small money and trade through them. For other large trading and deliery portfolio, we can continue with reputational brokers only.

Thank you and best of luck.
You can look at a glass as half full or half empty. We are optimistic and words like these will push us to prove all that who think otherwise wrong. We are a modern thinking company and understand the power of the web.
1 person on this forum spending half hour a day in a month is able to address queries of over 300 clients and do business with even more. That is the power of web. A reputed broker would have hired 20 people and still not have been able to do half the job that we have been able to do .
Indian traders have to mature to understand what really reputation means in the broking business. You will be surprised at what all we have lined up for Zerodha in the coming few months. We have some of the best traders of the country trading with us helping us come up with some of the brightest ideas... Will be looking forward to have you as our client and I am just writing the facts, haven't solicited Zerodha even once, haven't sent 1 unsolicited message selling Zerodha to anyone. So, don't understand what is a goody goody behavior.. .. Cheers...

We have no offline business and you could find out from a lot of members on the forum, Our risk management rules are fixed and it doesn't change for anyone, be it me or a client who promises to do 1000 trades in a day. We don't provide overnight margins. We have no subbrokers who can trade on behalf of others. We have no relationship managers who can screw up clients account to meet their revenue targets. Propreitary trading is done only on our prop account which is just another normal trading account. Probably one of the only few or should I say only one online broker to have all of the above features. So still beats me, when people think we are not safe. As far as reputation is concerned, if reputation means we have to advertise on TV and increase our cost of operation, increase brokerage and hence compromise on our clients profitability in the markets , we would probably never do it.
As I had said once before, Trading is a competition and winner is the one who has an edge. For an active trader, low cost of running on a really good platform is a big edge that we are trying to provide to our traders..... Cheers...Had a little free time today so got carried away in replying with longer messages... ...... Sachin

I know you are quick and detail in replying to quiestions and work hard as you start your business now only. But as the time pass, you acquire more customers then will be the testies time to check response from your company.

This is similar to when we start our trading day we follow all rules and discipiline but as the day pass we know what happens, so the real affect will be seen only after some months when there are more customers and customer issue.

Thank you.

Re: new cheapest broker is here. Zerodha

you guys are on the RIGHT track. It is just when the numbers grow, that you'd have to ensure customer receives the same 'wow' experience that we do now.

Few suggestions in this regard:
1. have someone high up in the authority follow @zerodha tweets. [hope u are on twitter]
2. have an escalation matrix. display the same on your website.
3. have online chat facility available.
4. have a ticket id issued to each of customer's unresolved query. beyond a certain time flag the ticket and pop it up in the senior management inbox.

rgds,

Hi zerodha,

what do you have to say abt this?
There's definitely some misunderstanding here. I've given my account opening application form and I got a verification call from IL&FS today. Their words were "We understand you've opened a trading account with Zerodha, and your DP account will be with us. We have to do a personal verification, towards which you will need to produce a personal ID like DL/passport/etc."
So I guess that there is nothing to worry about in that angle.

Further, I guess there will be a specific team working on this, and it might not be an entity-wide known 'Association' per se.
