my question is about margin for intraday futures . If i trade in futures contract and in first hour i use 50% of avalable margin.I square off position in first hour. what will be margin for the rest of the day. will it be remaining 50% or 100%. In other words is the margin released the same day after i square off the position.
Yes margins are released immediately... matter of fact is that we actually even let you take position with the profits made on the last trade... So if you have 1 lk and you took an intraday trade and make profit of 3k... You will have 1.03 lks to trade...

Re: Share transfer query

Hi Zerodha,

Could you please assist in finding the transfer form for transfering shares in physical form from my mothers name to my name. I contacted Zerodha customer care number, they said normally with the physical shares there will be a transfer form embedded at the back of the certificate which is indeed true. So should i fill the embedded form at the back of the certificate or buy a new transfer form...kindly assist.
What I would suggest is, convert it to demat form and then transfer.. Much easier and faster.... When you are transferring from your mom to your account, if signature mismatch etc, the process may get delayed.... Better thing to do would be to convert it to demat in your mom's demat account and then transfer using a transfer instruction booklet... Should happen in 15 to 20 days... (2 weeks for conversion + 1 day for transfer).....

Also, the popup on trade confirmation slides in and out, and stays for only 2 seconds. Its not readable. Ideally it should be on top right of screen, and STAY there till we close the box, like in ODIN and PIB.

Sachin, I have just started to use NOW actively, and will be pointing out issues. In NO WAY are my queries argumentative or with sarcasm. These are just issues which an active trader faces when he is punching orders. I want you to understand, that I am a very happy client of yours, just wanting to get happier. But, if small niggling issues are taken care of, I will attain nirvana Please bear with my novice questions.

Also, when putting in a sell stop, there is another window opening up saying the price is already triggered. do you want to proceed? Areey bhai, of course I want to. Also, the option selected by default is no, and it makes me want to punch the developers at NSE for such a thing

If I move away for a few minutes from the screen, and a trade happens, the popup box comes and goes in 2 seconds, I am not aware that a trade has been executed. We need the popup box to stay till we click it to close. Please. Am I the only one facing these issues?

Hi Sumo,

I think some confusion here... ctrl +p gives you order preferences where you can set all these things up... Can you leave me an email on [email protected] with my name in the subject(Sachin).... I will call you up and fix most of these things...

the 2 second trade confirmation message you see, along with it you can open a trade book message window at the bottom... ctrl +L will open the trade message window at the bottom of the page...where all your trades will display...

Do send me an email, will call you back and sort this out..

Zerodha,I want to open a trading account but I will trade through mobile most of the day.Does NOW work on mobile also?Which mobile is cheap and best for mobile trading?
Hi Arjit,

Yes NOW has a very good mobile app... Personally I prefer the blackberry for the qwerty keyboard rather than the touch screen that comes with most other phones....NOW mobile will work on java, blackberry, android and iphones..

Dear Sachin. Thanks for responding.
I have the log wndow where it shows the trades, but there are a lot of trades there. I have to continuously monitor if a line with the latest trade has been added to it. A popup that stays till you close it is what is required.

And I put all types of orders, Sachin, and setting the preferences to SL or SLM or LIMIT restricts the different order types. I am in no way complaining, just wanting to make my experience better with NOW. I truly appreciate you answering my queries. Since I am a fast trader, I am going to bug you till I sort these things out. After that, I will disappear, and the only way you will know I exist, is when you take a look at your monthly or quarterly list of active trades. I might just show up there :)

I am a small trader, looking to grow, and your brokerage is that one step that can be my spring board :)

PS: By the way, have you tried to look at a trade log? I get scared looking at all the lines there :) Poor me :
) I am now going to remove the logs for order confirmation and order trigger from the preferences to clear it up :)

Hi Sumo,

There are a few constraints we have using a platform which is not proprietary...There are a lot of advantages also... :) ....

I make note of every request of a feature that makes sense for me as a trader... A lot of what you have requested for....

Do go through all the menu's, it has a lot of features and certain settings might suit your style... If you want to chat up about this, leave me your number and I will give you a buzz and we can work this out together.....

Ok, have found a superb change in the setting :)
In preferences,go to order, and in " FOCUS " click on order qty. Now, the buy or sell window opens at qty field, and one tab takes it to trigger, if your preference is set at SLM.
