Yes i also required margin against shares , when ever i called up or asked here they said couple of weeks NOW ITS BEEN A YEAR , LOL :rofl: NOW I TRADE WITH EDELWEISS ONLY but when they will provide margins i will surely open my account

zerodha is good i know but for that extra special service some time you need to pay up i dont think any one will give me service like edelweiss but every time i do a delievery trade they take out 150 +150 out of my pocket where as at zerodha it would be 20 + 20 only

just like zerodha RK global also does not give margins against shares .edelweiss is way ahead of angel in terms of software , there dealers low brokerage ect ect

Can you provide any application/excel file which can calculate the amount of margin required to write OTM options (EOD basis and not intraday)?

say, Nifty is at 4850, and I want to short 5200 CE. So how much margin money will be blocked? (Plz don't say that you need the whole amount as required for 1 lot of nifty futures. BTW, have found that one does not require the whole margin amount but only the span amount+/-gain/loss to hold nifty futures EOD, iff the trade is done before 3 pm cut-off time)

Software is omnesys nest on co location server so quotes are update every few milli seconds plus algo trading , brokerage is .005 and .05 that is 500 rs per crore
fno and 5000 rs delivery per crore ( lets not talk any more about others in zerodha thread )

About Rs 16000 needed for One Lot (50) for 5200 CE, if you will go for 5100CE margin will increase...and Rs 25000 need for 4800 CE etc:rofl:

Guys, I understand the issue, we are giving margin against stocks, but yes the process is a little cumbersome because we don't have an online module for the same yet...

We still provide you margins, but you would have to pledge the shares manually...
