Re: new cheapest broker is here. Zerodha

One of my biggest concerns when I opened an account... Have a cousin working with NSE chennai... Basically he was explaining how compliant NSE as an exchange is.. The money that client transfers goes to NSE client account. Broker in no way can swindle that.... Also he was saying, before NSE and SEBI give out broking licenses, they do all the due diligence about the promoters, their networths etc.... What my cousin was saying that, was in real sense when we trade with say an indiabulls, we are paying for all the office expenses, high salaries, cars etc from our brokerage.. Especially with a trader like me, who has never ever visited a brokers office or used any of their additional services, Ihave paid for all their crap for the last so many years.. Pure vanilla discount broking platforms are famous in US, about time we also had something in India..

Discount broking is a novel concept and it has just come into India and I'm sure it'll be great fun to see traders actually make a living out of trading.
Our government actually has given us (traders) STD by charging STT. There were two main barriers for traders: Brokerage and Taxes - apart from the existing mental barriers each of us possess as individuals. At least one devil (brokerage) has left the building... Now we have to wait and watch what the government does with STT in 2011.

Are you sure about our money kept with NSE rather than with our Broker? I never knew this. Can someone else confirm this fact?
