Hi Zerodha,

1.Lets say i have 1 lakh in my Dp how much cash can i get by surrendering those shares to you?

2. Can we use that cash to buy delivery based stocks or should we use that cash only to buy FNO positions?

3.What are the charges for this entire process?

4.Is there any time frame by which we need to pay back the amount and get our shares back?

pls reply asap.

1. How much cash you get by surrendering depends on the stock.. The haircuts usually are atleast 20-25%.. So it could be as much as 75k to 80k..

2. Cash can be userd for fno positions only..

3. Charges to pledge and unpledge together would be a max of around Rs 100..

4. No time frame, as long as you are making good your mtm's , you can hold as long as you want...

That said, the online module to pledge is still not up and should be up as soon as we go live on Zerodha Trader in the next couple of weeks...

One point I was always curious and interested in was, who generates the most brokerage (winners/losers) if calculated in average?

On an average losers do generate a slightly higher brokerage, but that said, most of the top performers are active day traders and are amongst the people who pay higher brokerage...

Awaiting instructions on how to claim refund of brokerage from Zerodha for the 60 day challenge.

The backoffice dashboard has a link to porftolio.. the home page when you login... Click on the exchange you trade on and mention the dates from when you started to 60 days.. If the net value at the bottom of the page is in positive, send an email out to [email protected], the brokerage will be credited to your account within 5 working days.. .

But Sachin religare charges me nothing for providing me margin against stocks to sell options or futures

Plus my stocks are there to sell any time i want how and why should it be any different with you

I can sell the stocks first and then cover the options or vice versa

Nice to see active daytraders doing well.....this challenge should set the questions such as " Can money be made in trading? " "Can money be made in daytrading " ," Is there anyone who makes money consistantly in trading " to rest....

Percentages are derived statistics. Hard facts would be something like sumosanammain has presented below. Without the numbers, and without questioning the numbers, I would be included to view the percentages with a very jaundiced eye.

A lot of cases in the winners were those of doing a few trades and switching accounts as soon as they are in the money..

When we started the challenge, the number we thought will be around 10-12% at the max.. This is the real number, if not for a lot of the people trying to use shortcuts.... A lot of money seems to have been made on the fall, a lot of them turned positive after the fall...
