Hi Newbie,

For trading futures intraday you need 50% of SPAN and for holding any futures positions overnight you need 100% of Total margin....

Yes you definitely can go long and short on futures both for intraday and overnight.... :) ....

that means, i can trade in one lot of minifty with 5K in my account?

I thought most accounts were for dummies :)
As one big broker in the US had put it... I treat all clients as terminally ill, and try to keep them happy till they are gone :)

As for dummy accounts..... I would like one to be funded with a few million too :)
ya definately ...indian brokers shold also come forward and provide dummy accounts just like forex dummy accounts where one can test their strategies with dummy money too :)

Regards

Zerodha, ain't this plan make option more cheaper.

Say if I trade nifty option 10 lots 5000 per lot i.e 50K intra day...My brokerage with be Rs 5 and that even including both side, thus I saved Rs 35. Am I correct ?
in Fno there is only one plan Rs. 20 per order...the other plan is for equity only.

correction. it's rs 20 per order and not per lot. it does not matters you buy 3 lots or 300 lots of option/futures, you'll pay just 20 bucks flat. so more you buy, more you save as your break even will come down. :)
