Dear chandu,
You can sell the shares any time after 2 working days (settlement of shares are T+2 means trading day+2 working day)....but some shares (confirm with your broker)you can sell the next day also..

Hi Chandu dear,

you can keep the shares for sure but the thing which would change would be the brokerage....... if u settle the deal in intraday then you wud be be paying intraday borkerage which is alwyas significantly less then delievery brokerage. but if you dont settle in intraday then you would have to pay the delievery brokerage.
Also if you have taken the leverage then you would have to settle the deal within the time specified by ur broker (mostly 7 days).
Also you have to settle the short deals of equity in intraday only.

I believe i have tried my best to make the things clear........ i hope it help you.....

Regards
AMit

Re: General Guide to Day Trading

Dear srinmm,

WHY YOU LOST MONEY?
How you have selected now?

Ask these question and write down the answers...learn from the mistakes...

For a successful trading carrier requires proper knowledge, skill and practice. If you have them you will be successful and lack of it will make you kill your own trading capital.

So, first of all you should get the knowledge and gradually the skills...then you will be successful.

Remember there is no easy money in market....

While browsing the forum, I was also looking for something intended exclusively for beginners like me. Thanks a million for such a wonderful effort. But I am encountering the same problem as srinmm is facing. I am not sure which one to choose to do intraday. Many people around me discouraging me all the time not to go for intraday, but long-term, but I am keenly interested to go for intraday.

So far in last 5 transactions, I have made 1483/- profit :)p, please don't laugh, I am a complete newbie), and for 2, I did for intraday, but never did with margin. I just bought as long, but sold in the very day. But I am really confused where to start, how to start. Since I have spent lots of hours in calculating pivots, but find it not really worthy for tomorrow's prediction. In fact, there are so many shares (for example, today ZEE gives a good hike at least in the first hour), I simply can't understand how to do my research after market hours to choose the best one from, so that I can trade tomorrow with those shares. Can you please help?

Dear sudipa,

First learn about what you like to do i.e., trading.
Understand basics, read as many quality journals as you can. You can find a ton of articles about trading in the internet. After that learn some trading strategies, try it out/paper trade......trade live......and finally decide whether trading is the job for you or not.

No true shortcuts for money.

Thanks TFL for your advise. But can you please guide me where to start. Believe me, I am quite confused about how to start and where to start, please.
