Hi,
In Derivatives > Futures, what happens to all the open position at end of the contract expiry? If the short position do not get clossed, what happens/vis-a-vis if long position doesn't get closed what happens?
At the expiry of the futures contract ,all open positions are settled in cash with the spot price of the particular security. However recently the option is given to even take delivery of the underlying (security).
Can i have one demat linked to two trading accounts?
i.e, can i buy a share in India bulls and sell it through India info line?:!
As long as you wait for the T+3 th day for the security to be credited to your account, you can sell it fron India Infoline trading account.
There are a couple of issues involved here though.
Though it is possible to have a demat account linked to a trading account of anoher broker most brokers are reluctant to offer this except i heard Angel broking.
Another issue Angel broking and Sharekhan have added a new charge called inter settlement for crediting delivery shares into the demat account. So go ahead but you may have to bear this charge.
Of course opening a trading account at another broker enables you to test the brokers services.
do you think that it is a good idea to buy over valued stock even if it is against a value investor's good judgement? i would love your opinion on this matter
Yes its called growth strategy. Some shares like Nestle and GSK Consumer are well known and though have a higher PE multiple grow still further and command a price premium over the competitors due to established business, higher dividend record, sustainable earnings prospects etc.
