Chinese police uncover huge fake jellyfish 'scam'


Police in eastern China have raided two fake jellyfish workshops, saying more than 10 tonnes is thought to have made its way into local food markets.
Police said the fake jellyfish had been made by mixing chemicals, adding that checks showed high levels of aluminium. The syndicates made more than 170,000 yuan (£18,100; $26,100) in profits in a year of production, they added.Jellyfish is very popular sliced and served as salad, particularly along China's southern and eastern coasts.

Uncanny statue of kneeling Hitler fetches record $17m at New York auction

WhatsApp finally launches desktop app, here’s how to use it


After years of staying away, WhatsApp today has finally launched a desktop app both for Windows and Mac users. The app is quite similar to WhatsApp for Web that was launched last year. The app syncs with the user’s phone and requires it to be connected to the Internet.
However, rather than going for a standalone app, WhatsApp has opted for an app that just mirrors the conversations from the mobile app. In other words, you cannot use the desktop app if your phone has run out of battery or it is not connected to the Internet.
