Today, Kargil Vijay Diwas (Kargil Victory Day)
I really thank our defense personnel from the bottom of my Heart .But at the same time I really feel bad about the army men as they have to sacrifice their lives due to inability of decision makers. Decisions taken in plush AC rooms can cost hundreds of army men their lives. Kargil War has lot of scars of such decision handicaps.

I salute the Soldiers of India.

While VAT is a good idea, the Congress has raised an important point of placing a limit on the VAT govt. can impose. While the direct taxes are quite low, we unfortunately hold the distinction of having the highest rate of indirect taxes in terms of taxes, tax on tax, cess, levies etc. etc... even a small % increase in VAT impacts all households indirectly, especially the poor and the middle class. The govt. must be accountable and rein in wasteful expenditure subsided by tax payers such as this : Labourers at Food Corporation of India earn more than Rs. 4 lac a month....

Soon we might see Corporate Security Cess :D if the subsidy withdrawal fund falls short of sustaining these non-governmental expenditures .. Poor Common people , they are getting hit on both sides ...
