#ReadyToWait: Keep Women Out Of Sabarimala, Says New Campaign - By Women

In Kerala, however, a group of women have started a Facebook campaign two days ago called #ReadyToWait to say that they back the ban on women of reproductive age from the Sabarimala Ayyappa temple, one of the most revered sites of worship among Hindus.

Dedicated to Lord Ayappa, worshipped as a son of Lord Vishnu, the temple allows entry only to girls younger than 10 or women over 55. Priests and trustees have said that the deity is a bachelor and that menstruating women defile the premises.

Think about it.... Women give birth to men, and then men make rules to keep women out of religious places!!! What an irony. It's time we recognize the value and worth of the women who bring us into the world.... :(:(:(

This is really a hear shattering news, and a hot political mudda for our so called respected politicians and MLAs. Blame game has started between all three major parties at the places, finger were being raised and words are exchanged on TV reports just to show how better our party is than others by just highlighting the above issue. :annoyed:

Reportedly the poor man was not allowed to perform the post death ritual as per his tribal custom, and was taken to the district headquarter for an official probe in to the matter. And even shockingly he was questioned if he had killed his wife ?? Hospital authority are also blaming the poor man for not waiting more, where as he was denied an ambulance for he was not able to pay the fees to carry the body to his native place which was 60km away.

But our politicains got the Masalla that they wanted.. Congresswala are blocking roads one day shouting against BJP and BJD sighting the same incident, and BJP is doing a strike targeting and blaming BJP and other parties.. and this will continue.. SHAME SHAME... :(

Sabarimala one of the major divine pilgrim center of south, devotees are coming here after Ayyappa Vratham,....... they donate a major part of their income to the temple.

But on the other side, the priests are living like millionaires, in 2006 , police caught one chief priest from a flat of a prostitute,
And there are many cases women from rich families entered into the shrine after giving bribe.

perhaps there is logic in the temple's viewpoint. Similarly, the women are not allowed into the temple of Lord Kartik (somewhere in Rajasthan). Request : Before commenting on this, please read the story of why Kartik the warrior became anti-women, the story of Kartik, the brother of Lord Ganesh.... etc.etc.

Happens across religions... God is made out into a business. And very few people really understand this, and some may take offence even to this obvious truth... For e.g The Saudis, instead of preserving their old heritage in their holiest place i.e Mecca, have demolished the old houses and converted large areas into 5 and 7 star hotels....

(This is what the Pakistan based site has to say)

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/w...-holiest-site-turning-into-vegas-2360114.html

All big shrines in India (across religion) have thousands of crores in wealth, (Does God benefit from this wealth? For what is this money used?) But this is happening from centuries. There is a passage in the Holy Bible from the time of Jesus - Where Jesus visits the Temple and begins to drive out the merchants saying this used to be called a house of prayer, but you have turned it into a den of thieves. :( God is not in the physical structure of Temple / Church / Mosque. Only if we could realize this.... :(

But I didnt find any such discrimination at a very famous temple of Lord Kartik, known as Lord Murugan in South Indian states, at Palani Hills, some 100 km from Coimbatore, during our darshan, there, last year.
