can anyone suggest a good resort near mahabaleshwar or panchgani ? far away from city would be preferred..also, are there better hill station than these near mumbai ?

matheran - no vehicle allowed inside, vehicles to be parked at top of hill, just before entering...so no pollution

saputara - quite place on maharashtra-gujarat border north of nashik

Wai- Near Satara and Mahabaleshwar. Far away from city but very good place for holidays.
Cost is much low comparatively Mahabaleshwar or Panchgani.

i live in satara. i dont think wai is suitable place. if u feel mahableshwar is crowded then u can go to pratapgad which is a fort and only 15 min from mahableshwar. u can get cool weather and nature both there.
