suppose my trading capital is 50k ,
A) I made loss of 4k in april but got 6k brokerage return (BR) from zerodha 60 day challenge winner.
B) I made profit of 4k in april but got 6k brokerage return (BR) from zerodha 60 day challenge winner.

What is my net profit/loss in april in both cases , do we add this BR as trading profit.

if you made a loss, how will you get the brokerage return for 60 day challenge ?? It must've been for the previous quarter.

then two cases
A) let BR was for jan - march quarter but money deposited in my ac in april
B) let challenge ended in mid april (say from 15 jan- 15 april) and I got BR in april last week.

im expecting tax hike for tobaco products in coming budget so want to benefit from any short term movements if that happens...i dont have any past data or info about it so if anyone else has any opinion or info then please share it here...

Yes
When we claim brokerage as an expanse from our trading profit
Then any BR will be added to trading profit

I understand that you are asking this query for IT point of view.

So, irrespective of the facts/conditions that Zerodha takes into account for BR, the profit will be

1. 2K
2. 10K
