Did anyone manage to capture the 30 mins sharp up move?

I was short by 1.30 and had to exit with loss...

If any one managed to capture the 30 min up move...
and think that trade as not a pure random fluke...

am curious, do tell us... how did you manage to do that...

Did anybody managed to tame today's snake move!?
I did with the help of a post in the thread .

If it helps: I showed an option trade today to Vertigo with the 7500 June call in Nifty. I choosed that option as it was atm and the support from yesterday in your market was not touched when I mentioned it to him. Price was a bit over 100 at that time and at end of day it was at 177. Stop loss on it was never touched and by doing nothing the profit at end of day was huge. So I am sure many others did catch this move in Nifty market as the traded volume only on this strike level is over 170'000.

The move was super sharp and I'm sure a lot of ppl missed the the first push up unless some one was long much before the move. But there are often re-entry if we miss the move. I also missed the first big move and could enter only at XX98.

Check out this gem post by ST Da on how to enter on sharp moves..

re: Day trading Nifty & Banknifty Futures

@amitrandive ,Somatung, augubhai, manishchan

Thanks for your inputs!

I will try to follow Somatung and Smart_trades link said by manishchan.

method #1:
Somatung's way: if it has not penetrated previous support, stay long
(definitely going short is NOT a good idea.)

method #2:
from Smart_trades link: buy on higher highs (or sell on lower lows) after small pullback...
you should be inside the trend...

however today's fast move could be handled only with method #1 IMO.

lets see... after burning my finger... atleast I will NOT short until the market has broken the strong support levels.

Summary: let the market tell you when to get in get out... forcing your bias on market will not work.

Thanks guys!
