I've btw subscribed to the business plan offered by Hathway... In their description, they mentioned it ideal for businesses which run latency sensitive applications.

Think nest is one such app.

Now I haven't tested to check any difference in quotes updation or order fill rates but in my non techie mind, 50 Mbps > 512 kbps, 1 Mbps..

I primarily trade using cover orders, so all my fills on nf are @ MKT....

The price differential between my old connection and the 50 Mbps is abt 300 rs.

If I get an advantage, technically, all good.

If not, its still all okay. I can view YouTube HD Vids with zero lag.
Worth it. :D

it all depends on which server you choose ?
What is the meaning of Ping?
A signal to make a complete round trip from your computer to the server and back. In this case, a lower number would represent a faster transfer speed and a higher number would represent a slower speed

Well, speed seems to be a question where you live, the infrastructure they offer and finally also how much you want to pay for it. Over here I got this results from http://www.speedtest.net

and this result from this link: http://www.bandwidthplace.com

Compare to what I have seen in the thread so far, I should be happy with this even this is not the fasted over here.

I have seen that the business line was mentioned from Nirav today.

Some thing like what is offered over here would surely also make sense in your place: Use our free service to receive information by e-mail or SMS about disruptions in your area. Do you have such a service and if not, why not mention it and ask if they can do it. If you know when your connection will be down, then you know what you have to do before this moment punches you. Just some input from over here which may is of use for you. :)
