For less fortunate people who cannot get masters from stanford and a million dollars job thereafter, trading guarantees good income, no bossing, no politics, no pink slips, no deadlines and no retirement, no boredom.....lifelong fun...( all that if learnt...loosing money in losses does not guaratee any "learning")

Trading is hands down best for me compared to any job in the world how much ever the pay is :D

Already enjoying it ;). It depends on how one becomes a trader, if he starts trading with hope alone that one day he will become rich because of trading, he will surely fail how much ever lucky he is. If a person chooses trading just he heard someone somewhere became somehow rich because of trading and he starts trading, he is destined to lose. If some one tries to become a trader plans his steps, learns the skill to become a consistently profitable trader and makes sure to reach that goal, then he is going to become a good trader, one more ingredient for great trader, never stops increasing his aptitude and learning new skills. Not just learning but also implementing them after research, tons of research. I don't like someone bossing me and my hobby is sculpture reading, trading hence supports both of this in my life.

I remember once some one said to me and I hugely overlooked what he had said, choose a profession that compliments your dream life style, and you will never regret for that once in a life time. One who has a good hobby, spends valuable time to family, keeps himself best in his skills and never ceases to learn will be in the top 10% whichever field he is in, I have seen many such in some fields and few such in trading fields, like ST, Pratap bhai, Saint and many others who are always curious to learn.

Stay hungry Stay foolish as Steve Jobs said like these people and anyone can make a living in trading or any profession they like whatever it is...

Hi,
This is my first post in this thread, though I was following this thread for quite sometime. The following post of mine, though from a different thread fits perfectly for this thread. Being a new member I never be able to gather enough courage to ask for it. Want other members support to eliminate such faking.

There are many posts in various threads where many members are faking everyday about their trades EOD, though they never post in real time (or even if they post it real time, it is of very vague in nature/meaning). And the interesting fact is that some members do it on a regular basis and no one asks for the proof, like image of contract notes or of tradebook or of orderbook, etc etc. Perhaps every one knows that the concerned trader is faking.

Even a newbie like me can fake at the end of the day, that I earned 5k, 10K or post a chart EOD, marking my trades that I bought here, sold there and so on so forth. No intelligence is required in posting trades EOD, or chart EOD.

What I think, it should be made mandatory to post proof of ones trades, by the evening, if a member posts (read boasts) about his trades or earnings, by themselves or if someone asks for the proof (to start with).
If I post or boast (as you said) of my trades then I have no problem in posting proof, if some one asks for it. But when no one is in support of this initiative, then why should I stand alone for it. :D

One of the most important quality of a trader is patience. We must be patient and wait for the right trade. If there is nothing to trade, don't trade anything.

We must also be patient for an easy kill. Here is a good quote on that.

“Although the cheetah is the fastest animal in the world and can catch any animal on the plains, it will wait until it is absolutely sure it can catch its prey. It may hide in the bush for a week waiting for just the right moment. It will wait for a baby antelope, and not just any baby antelope, but preferably one that is also sick or lame. Only then, when there is no chance it can lose its prey, does it attack. That, to me, is the epitome of professional trading.”

Excellent Arcus, so we are cheetahs heh atleast trying to be so in trading :p
