do you keep stop losses to avoid trauma from violent movements ? like if some announcement makes the bank index jump 200-300 points in either direction, youll have a large negative

In fact even if the index jumps 200 points 31500 will move up only 100 Rs .. similarly on downside..
moreover the position has already collected Rs 188 credit of which at least Rs 100 - 120 would be surely got before 3 PM

Don't know the exact margin. I get it on Nifty ETF holding. If I wan to short big qty's, they provide the margins on expiry day on request. But I generally don't do that. ( this is with a reputed broker when I sell)
Buying I do with discount broker.
