Today im driving a petrol/diesel car. So if I buy a hybrid car in the next 2-3 years, I will use it for at least 5-6 years before I buy a fully electric car. So we are looking at a 15 year time horizon before the complete switch happens. Wouldnt it be better to just build the required infrastructure and make a direct switch? Cost for industry will be less. Developing an hybrid is expensive.
It may sound expensive in building hybrid. But thats how it supposed to be. If you scrap the current disel and petrol engines all of a sudden when we dont have infrastructure and not even a design in place for EV vehicle implementation in major companies, we can expect them on road by 2020.
Even to reduce emission. It goes by levels. You cant suddenly reduce emissions all of a sudden. Its a long process. Even if you make a small change in design and it cost us lot in redesigning manufacturing facility. then just think about switching to EV manufacturing. Similar to the way we suffer because of petrol and diesel, we will also suffer one day because of EV vehicles. Rather than realizing late, its better to equally use the resources by having hybrid.Just my view.

Please remember that hybrids will also require the same infrastructure. Moreover, its also a question of huge investments from the private sector who look at returns over a time period of 20-30 years. Hybrids are more costly to produce and since the focus is on going fully electric, will the investment in hybrid manufacturing plants be justified? If you are a businessman, would you put your money twice?
I dont know much about how all these things work. But purely from an investment point of view, I dont think its worth the effort going around in circles since the ultimate emphasis is on EV. Tesla and a few other companies seem to be doing fine. Its only a matter of building infrastructure from the govt side. Why govt even private players can participate in this like how we have private petrol pumps.

India Inc Q1 earnings: No sign of green shoots in April-June quarter

.
After a dismal 2018-19, during which profits grew a shade under 4%, corporate India is bracing for more pain, as high frequency indicators suggest demand is weaker than ever. Expectations have never been more tempered and the Street will be satisfied if there aren’t too many disappointments.

Analysts at Kotak Instituional Equities (KIE) expect net profits for the universe of companies that it tracks to grow by just 1.3% year-on-year; excluding banks, which should report strong numbers due to a helpful base effect, the profits are tipped to fall 6.7% y-o-y. That sums up the mood on the Street.

Huge opportunity for people who can build this infrastructure. Mein bhi electrician ka course kar loon?
Better start a aggregator app like uber/ola which point users to nearest charging point. Or may be install charging points and give smart cards to tour users who can use these charging points anytime anywhere. There are multiple ways of achieving this.

Best thing is, you dont have to be profitable and soon venture capitalists will flock like vultures to invest :)
