I think software companies in India should utilize this time collectively to research on inputting their resources for our infrastructure development in coming days... a big project, with many arms and veins, with equal participation.

is there money involved? if not forget about it.

Majority of Indian software companies don't do innovations. They are back office to western companies. that's their bread and butter.

yes, but it's not about what they do, it's about what they know, what skills and platform resources they have... either they can find a way and submit proposal to govt or govt take initiative to utilize our human resources in our own development. And i think it's not about money, it's about survival, and making the vessel strong...

our medical infrastructure also needs much development. we have great minds, researchers, thinkers, but still there was no rapid action planned against a medical disaster like this.. we have great chemists, biologists, and scientists seeking scholarships or funding.. had we thoughtfully invested in medical infrastructure such as DNA and RNA researching medicinal labs, then this much wealth loss could have been avoided..

yes, but for this to happen, both govt and IT companies needs to be proactive. We all know planning of indian govt, IT companies will not do anything for free. Besides, its myth that we have 'knowledge' from working in such projects which could be utilised in other places.

simple example is, if you are working in critical banking projects (say forex or currency market related), next time there is project in Retail Banking, the resource will be allocated to it. Its sear waste of knowledge/resource.

My personal experience: Was working in One technology, requirement came in Another, HR asked me to modify my CV for customer to replace Tech One to Tech Two and voila I was assigned to new project.
