Dear Mr.karthik

Kindly Evaluate The Scrip Cmc. The Scrip Is Now Hovering Around Near Bottom Rates And Hope Just Broke Out From Lower Levels. Kindly Advise
Dear Sankoorikal

Leave the Mr. Out.Just Karthik would be nice enough friend. Here is my views on CMC.

The performance of CMC is not very encouraging. The half-year result is poor compared to the previous year. Though there is increase in sales the PAT has decreased to 26 Cr. Compared to 31.68 Cr the previous year. Also the result for the year ending March 2005 is also poor compared to the previous year. The EPS also dropped from 31.67 to 16.37. Also the company failed to declare any dividend in 2005 compared to 55% in 2004.

Also it does not look very encouraging on the charts. Like you said it touched a low of 470 and has started moving up. But it has been sideways between ranges of 470 to 525 from April this year. Before that again it was moving sideways from almost a year in a limited range. The current uptrend looks strong on the chart. But there are many obstacles (read..resistances) on the way up. Considering the past chart movement , Overhead density and lack of any fundamental points to give a push to the momentum it is better to keep this one out of our list. There are many more positive counters available now. Let us bet on the stronger ones and leave the laggards alone

Regards

Karthik

BILT has been making nice ascending triangles. The toptrend line is at 111. It may breakout soon. So wait for it to breakout out of 111 with good volume. I am enclosing the chart for a quick decko..

Dear Agilent

Sorry my friend, this one somehow slipped.

Anyway.. the company has not started making profits. Instead it is increasing the losses.
The half yearly results is pretty bad. The loss is 42 Cr. compared to 7 Cr. in the corresponding period last year. The EPS slipped to 5. The last year performance was better compare to the previous year.. only 24 Cr. Loss compared to 37 Cr. loss the previous year.

On the 18th of last month the stock got locked at 5% upper limit. Why ????. Is it because some company Central India Agents was allotted preferential shares and warrants aggregating to 1.17% of the share capital. The stock market never fails to surprise me. The fundamentals of the stock are a pretty bad picture. Still people are buying it

Technically I do see an upper side but first it has to cross the stiff resistance at 30 to move up.. Also one Technical Analyst on CNBC told that this stock would touch 34:rolleyes:

Personally I would keep away from such stock.. ..and wish you would also...

Many thanks. I did have some idea of the mouting losses, but it is a mystery to me why a cement co of this size should be going downhill despite rising cement prices. And if that is true, why was its scrip highly rated b4 the recent mth long correction in markets.

Shall be grateful for anyone who can clarify.

Will be further v grateful to see an indepth analysis with , perhaps a brief peer comparison.

If I like the analysis, I shall give a suitable 'reward' to the good samaritan !

Dear Karthik...

Thankyou for your input on ITC & HLL and am glad to tell you that I've picked up both at the current prices.

I am holding some in TISCO and M &M. I would appreciate your views on these. Is it the right time to sell some and book profits or there is still some peak expected ...

Thanks

Hi Agilent...a warm welcome to the forum.
Karthik is doing a great and selfless service in assisting and guiding those forum members who need help weaving their way through the complexities of TA and the market. Kudos to him, and I know exactly how much time and commitment this takes.
For this reason, I have no real difficulty with the expression 'good samaritan' which the English language has adopted from Jesus's parable about a kind and compassionate Samaritan, meaning a person from Samaria of the Hebrew tradition.
However speaking of a 'reward', you would do well to give him a heartfelt thanks in expressing your gratitude, as there is little else you or anyone can give.
You may of course have been alluding to the facility of rating the thread with stars which is about the most worthless and frivolous feature of this otherwise well designed and serious space. In a place of acute objectivity and candor, this feature promots whimsical and arbitrary 'adjudications'.
It's not important whether the analysis made here is liked by you or anyone, or not liked. The issue is of a probing and well researched approach to analysis which is educative to both the analyst and the reader.
If one likes the analysis, a good reward would be to learn from it to further the cause of all the efforts being taken by Karthik.
Forget the rating and the stars...they don't mean a damn.
I am not even sure how many amongst us here are really worthy of exercising an objective and an informed vote.
Warm regards.
