The Main file downloded is in .rar extension.so are all files? is this ok?

I tried to unzip.
But file name remains as main.rar.

I pasted into the fibotrade>data folder and restarted.
Opened quoteman
Could not open file in the ASCI Start window??
Kindly tell me where I have gone wrong?

Hi Bas,

The files with .rar extension are compressed files. These are compressed using WinRar program. To get the original files you have to decompress (unrar) them using the same program WinRar. It can decompress other formats like Winzip files also. You can get a trial version of WinRar from www.rarlab.com Once you decompress the .rar files you can use them with Fibitrader.

Hi! Soumya,

Just got my computer re-formated yesterday. Had all the backups till Friday. When I imported today's data into Fibotrader, I am getting a long bar for today's data. Am attaching a screenshot of a chart.

Does it have anything to do with the date settings in the control panel.
Am attaching a screenshot of the date settings that I have. Could you please let me know if the settings are right. I don't remember the date settings prior to the re-format.

Would be grateful if you could please help.

Thanks & regards,
Amit

it seems that the problem is related with data import rather than date format. check the header row before import in the ASCII import window.

thanks,

Re: Fibotrader : problem after imporitng

Hi soumya,
Thanks for all help. After copying quote0, I imported the csv files in 31st_May_to_4th_August_2006.rar and I find that the charts show volume as open, high, close rate and I get huge line. I checked the format before importing and it seems to be OK. Am I missing something

hi Anjan,

u have done something wrong. at the time of eod import the column header should be looked like
<name><symbol><date><open><high><low><close><volume>
or
<symbol><date><open><high><low><close><volume>

use Delete existing quotes(slower) option for overwrite on erroneous data.

thanks,
soumya

Hi Tarzan,

It appears that there is some error in your data. Form the chart of Infosys check the quotes for 15-9-06. Also find out what the number you got in portfolio manager refers to. Is it volume or some such thing?
