Ramdas Sir,google does not provide futures data, but NSE INDIA provides historical as well as real time futures data absolutely free, on it's web site http://www.nseindia.com/

So, I think taht we just have to change the data source in NSE STOCK CHART 201,to fetch historical as well as real time futures data from NSE INDIA.

Ramdas Sir, Please Help,
Can it be possible to change data source from google to NSE INDIA, to use it's futures data in metatrader with NSE STOCK CHART 201.
Thanking you,

Hi,

I am not sure about this. NSE has a separate commercial entity to deal with its data products (DotEx) and they charge heavily for their realtime data - so it is very unlikely that they will make realtime data available on their site 'free of cost'. As per my understanding, the data available on NSE website is 2-3 minutes delayed and is not realtime.

well.... no offence intended but it is not as easy as it seems. Exchange data delivery is a serious business and companies involved in this have invested heavily in reasearch, development, implementation and maintenance in terms of manpower and money. There is nothing wrong in expecting something to be available 'free of cost' but as grown adults, we need to understand the limitations as well. I would rather expect the developer to charge me for the services he is rendering. This gives developer the reward for the time and resources he is spending on the development of such a product - the motivation for him to perform better and better - and in return, I can expect timely deliveries and better services - so that I can concentrate on what I want to do. Ultimately, trading on stock market with reliable inventory and earn profit from it should be our goal - and not searching for something endlessly in a hope that it will be free.

Services meant for / related to profit-oriented businesses cannot be free. Money IS REQUIRED to develop and maintain good quality products and services. So if a company is giving something for free, remember that it is getting something much more valuable in return from its consumers - sometimes it is just that it does not have a price-tag.

These are generalised statements out of my experience in this industry. I am not trying to imply that the same exists for the developers writing in this thread. I know none of them and do not mean to disrespect them or their efforts in any manner. Of course we all see noble people around but since they are so rare - I take them as exceptions. And - exceptions only prove the rule - or not ? :)

Constructive criticism welcome - I would love to know if I am missing something.

This just gave me an idea - I will start a poll to know how people think on this aspect.

Thanks,
CA

Yes, i know all this very well that you have explained in you whole post reply, and also once again thanks to you for your precious time for giving a detailed reply.

I agree with you that NSE has a separate commercial entity to deal with its data products (DotEx) and they charge heavily for their realtime data and also their data on their website is 2-3 minutes delayed and is not realtime. OK FINE.

I also know that it is not an easy task as it seems, but not impossible. And profit-oriented businesses cannot be free. OK fine.

I also respect Ramdas Sir and truely appreciate his hard work.

and my dear friend ChartAnalyst, let you know that for your knowledge that what I have asked is just a request not an order or expectation.

Now, let me describe from where i got such an idea to fetch nse futures data in metatrader, look the wbsite http://niftyfno.forums-free.com/, It is the official website of ramdas sir, as the name of the website suggests it is regarding niftyfno and also see the top label heading picture in the website, it shows-nifty fno trader's, from these two points, suddenly an idea gets clicked in my mind that their is a possibility that Ramdas Sir is very likely, going to develop or developing such a utility for fno purpose.

So, i asked the same to Ramdas Sir in a very request full manner and truely respecting to him.
I really appreciate his hard work on continuous development of the helpful utility and helping other traders. He is also a great helpful person, i know, he is helping every trader by replying each and every quary, and also helping them by providing relevent solution for the quarried problem.

But i think their is nothing harm to evolve new ideas in our minds, it's a natural process of generating new ideas, in our day to day life , all the innovations which we all are utilizing today such as television, mobile phone, car, bikes, computers, electricity etc .etc..... are all started from one single idea.

look it in this way, just go back two decades, and see on that time we all are using lanline phones, their are no mobile phones, but look at today we all are using mobile phones, the point is as the time passes, new ideas come into minds and gets executed for the well being of whole human society.

So, it's a natural process of evolution, evolution of every thing around us and ultimately results in the evolution of human being.

I think their is nothing wrong in asking the developer anything regarding the utility and giving new ideas, possibilities and feedback to the developer.

Did you noticed ChartAnalyst, that you also got a new idea in this whole process, as you have mentioned in your post that-
"This just gave me an idea - I will start a poll to know how people think on this aspect.''
See , it's a natural process of evolution, and generating new ideas, because we all are humans not machines, the basic difference in human and in a machine is thet we always got a new iidea, but machine does not.

So,My dear friend, ChartAnalyst, I give you a advice start thinking out of the box, be adaptive to your surroundings and people , not think narrow mindedly and ironically, because every thing in this whole world is relative to everything else, nothing is absolute, THINK BIG , THINK BETTER.

ChartAnalyst I hope you don't mind all this, it is just a Constructive criticism that you have asked for and as you have welcomed in your post reply.

Respected,Ramdas Sir, I hope you also don't mind all this, because as I have explained above their is nothing wrong in asking the developer anything regarding the utility and giving new ideas, possibilities and feedback to the developer,in my point of view.

Thanking You All,
:)

Sure - there are no hard feelings at all. Forum is a place for people to collaborate and exchange their ideas and it is absolutely not necessary that 2 people should have same views. So as a person, I respect your views. I was just trying put another point-of-view across :)

Thanks,
