With discount brokers, the trading costs have gone down substantially...I remember having traded Reliance in old days and paid Rs 1000 for buying 1000 shares and Rs 1000 for selling in intraday trades....now with Zerodha one can do it in Rs 40 round trip. Big big advantage.

Well, the 1000 rupees charging Old brokering mafia is not happy with young guns like Mr Kamath, and is ganging up against discount brokers. But the genie is out of the bottle, hard to put back, and the old guard is trying to at least have it leashed as per the news in economic times. http://articles.economictimes.indiatimes.com/2015-04-17/news/61253825_1_nithin-kamath-brokerage-zerodha

Our brokerage cost with these discount traders, has come down quite substantially. It is even below 10 or negligible, when one trades on monthly brokerage.
But one caution to be taken, keep checking ledger account. As once, i found Zerodha deducted some 6000 R from my trading a/c in the name of NSE penalty and when I asked for further details, they didnt have any explanation. But they didnt returned my that money (I would call that cheating only) after that I stopped trading with them. This happened some 3 years back

Just post your email (Edit your name and Id) regarding proof...... otherwise don't blame any body..... :annoyed:

Hardly wil d succes story aired now b an inspiration 2 smone as wen d mkt opens fr trade 2morow n a couple of profits n loses wil rule d traders mind..UNLES der is a burning desire ..d unnet NEED ..d GOAL 2 strike it rich ..d DREAM (nt day dreaming)
Burning desire or a goal to strike rich needs enormous amount of time and mental energy to gestate before becoming reality. And day trading since the advent of discount brokers is becoming increasingly inefficient engine for an ordinary trader to be profitable so as to become wealthy through compounding: in that the output, the profit, is meager compared to the input, time and energy which are limited and diminishing.

Manish bhai, i dont know y :D, i ony believe half of the article bcoz,
i know two well known brokers, one company is listed both Exch., they started as passionate traders,Just like the malayalam article start about Nithin Kamath,'He cudn't see anything else when he started watching the price movement, He fall in love with Stocks etc etc.

but suddenly oneday these passionate stock lovers turned as brokers, and advise all their franchises owners to not trade, only let the clients to do trade :D

Anyways, its a gud news that all brokers r sucessful , and thanks to Discount brokers for saving us few bucks.
TJ bhai... the story is not inspiring coz if his TRADING. it is inpiring as a person.. as his journey of being nothing and lost in his childhood to starting out and running a successful company. In trading profession, we dont hv to be inspired by only traders. Many things around us inspire. Sachin, Dhoni can inspire us. Warren Buffet can inspire us.. Abdul Kalam can inspire us. Any body who has had struggle in life and have found their way to success will always inspire us.. !! :)

This is a strange complaint, niftyexceltrader. For all their faults, I haven't heard or seen any financial golmaal from Zerodha. Please post the details here and then let's hear from Zerodha about it.

Please understand that a lot of members here are using Zerodha's services, including myself, and find your accusations unsettling. Do us all a favor and post the details.

Having goal is not enough. It should be clear-cut goal resting atop a very robust thought structure that is powerful enough to exclude any distraction without effort. Odds only then start becoming favorable for it to get fulfilled. Requiring inspriational stories or lofty quotes to prop it up every second of your life is akin to chomping viagra just to get 'it' off the ground and then rationalizing it needed to be 'inspired' to do what comes so naturally to a healthy hot blooded male.
