you mean jharoo tax, already implemented as stated in a post above. Next in pipeline are, make in India tax, beti bachao tax etc etc. And after that GST, where service tax is likely to charge around 18-20%, or may be more. So be ready to pay more tax.
Today I was reading an interview of an educated and progressive farmer. He has 6 acres land and he makes a profit of 18-24 Lacs per year after all the expences. He pays no Income Tax and he is better off than many of us traders.
A farmer once told me that one good year of crops pays for the next 3-4 years' expenses. They expect some bad news when there is the "Adhik maas" in the Hindu calendar - maybe bad rains or insects or something.
But agriculture does not attract any income tax and most of the crops are sold in advance i.e. within 1 month of the plantation or even before sowing. Agriculture me bhi futures ka dhandha chalta hai.
Maybe the corporates will enter agriculture in a big way and find a way to make every year a good year.

one needs 20-50 lakh capital to earn something like that.
more than monetary aspect I think happiness /freedom is more important , if you feel happy with your profession , thats good.
