IT dept is short of time. They don't want to harass honest taxpayers.They treat you with utmost respect. And your assessment is done fast.Even in scrutiny cases, if you have paid correct tax they will not go after us....if you tell them Tax you have paid, all their questions soften and he behaves with you.This year my assessment order was issued with no further tax demand in 10 days.....never seen such efficient Govt dept.

TP invest karo ELSS me it is high time you start building up a good portfolio...retirement planning bhi Ho jayega....koi hospitalisation nikalta hain to 5-10 Lakhs ud jate hain....Bagwan na Kare.....but prepare for the worst.

Sir in axis ELSS, on its site is showing a 3yr return at about 26%, what does that mean? Does it mean about 8%per year or something else.

No for any return over 12 months it is always CAGR....so compound return of 26 %per annum .....that is huge when other instruments are giving 8-9 % pa...so alpha of 18 %....

For those who want to invest in ELSS funds, a few additions from my side. ELSS is a very good scheme for tax saving, with minimum lock in period (of 3 years)

- Invest online (in comfortable)
- Choose Direct plan instead of regular plans.
- Choose growth option
