Smart Trade Sir, I am testing a simple system as you described in your thread. System is try to catch moves in 5 min TF based on trend in 30 min TF. For how many months back data should I test this? These are intraday trades. How much back testing is sufficient so that it would cover all types of days and opening variations?

Reversal in Nifty. Many buyers are trapped. Looks like a good Vwap gap will get created at 2:30 and selling will push the market further down.
About 25 points gap at present....it should increase for gap play to playout.

5-6 months or max 1 year ok for intraday on smaller timeframes that is enough I think. I know few guys who have been only backtesting for last 10 years, but never got courage to take a real trade...dont let that happen to you.

Below 7890-88 the market gradient became horizontal and when it went below VWAP then sell every rally....7880/70/60 ....there are small rallies at all these points.

What is market gradient ? What does this show ??

Here "IT" means the gradient or Price ?? Which one has to go below VWAP ?

Gradient is slope at which the trend is progressing....in most reversals say we are in uptrend, then we keep getting corrective declines but the gradient is up....but before reversing that gradient angle breaks down, the angle becomes horrizontal and then market starts breaking pivot lows and the downmove starts. You will see this in any trend, any timeframe.
