When one taxpayer owed 11% of India's individual income tax

Just one taxpayer owed 11 percent of the income tax that was to be paid by all Indians for the assessment year 2014-15, according to data from Income Tax department analysed by IndiaSpend.
The data from 2016 – the latest available – shows an unnamed taxpayer owed the government Rs 21,870 crore.
Three individual taxpayers declared business income of more than Rs 500 crore, while two individual taxpayers declared long-term capitals gains of more than Rs 500 crore in 2014-15. Their names have not been made public.
