Your first question is Scenario 2........an uptrend followed by a gap down not below previous pivot lows.Meaning it's a Hold till either the high or the Low is taken out.
Your second question is Scenario 3......shorting at 5897 after a gap down below previous pivot lows and a rally means we observe bar by bar on the 60min charts and the moment a previous bar's low is taken out,we stop and reverse to shorts.

Saint, Please have a relook (yet again) at November 2007 chart!!! Maybe the reason for my question maybe due to data issues , i dont know but whenever free, please clarify :
On 15th November we have PL at 1 PM bar!!! On 16th mkt opens with a Gap down, but the first 5 min. bar low is not broken, we stay Long.
On 16th we have a Pivot low at 3 PM bar. the low of the bar is 5882...
(Initially when i saw your level of shorting below 5897, i thought that it was just a calculation error and you instead of substracting 15 from 5882, added 5882+15=5897
)
On 20th November we have a Gap down opening, breaking the previous PL at 4882, the opening low of 20th is 5850 and the next bar makes a low of 5832!!! Would we not reverse our position at 5850-15=5835!!!
Saint, in your reply to Seagul you have mentioned :
"Your second question is Scenario 3......shorting at 5897 after a gap down below previous pivot lows and a rally means we observe bar by bar on the 60min charts and the moment a previous bar's low is taken out,we stop and reverse to shorts."
Dont we have a similar situation on 16th, when there is a gap down below previous Pivot low,and a rally, and the previous bars 2PM bar low is taken out by the next bar, the 3 PM bar!!!!
Do point out the difference in both the days situation which i probably am not able to perceive!!
Posting a chart with Pivots Marked by Red lines and the previous bars low break marked with Brown line!!!
