Well for starters, 5 finger rule. That leaves the pure guys fresh out of luck.

And then there's the next bar, which is only 15 points higher than the "pivot low" bar. Which incidentally is what out buffer is, +/- 15 points. Meaning, the next bar hasn't even moved enough to get out of the "pivot error range". I think I'll just call that sideways movement.

Thanks ......... but we should not stick 5 bar rule to define a Pivot : My veiw

I agree actually. What we need are "sharp" pivots, regardless of number of bars, I think.

We could maybe judge that by the candle's shadow length or something, but I'm not clever enough to formulate a new rule like that... ;)

Aban SAR: 1217-20=1197 / Add: 1300+10=1310, ofcourse SAR applies after this bar
Yes, we would have PLs on several of the stock futures tracked, assuming their highs are crossed and another hourly bar is complete, of course assuming 'bull is back' (thats not entirely convincing yet)

Hi prabhjeetrana
After 11am bar there should be two higher low bars to form 11 am bar as a valid pl hope it clear,.
A pivot is a retacement from original price, in this case a lower low on 60 min. bar thats it, no 5 bar or 5 finger analogy exists, a pivot is a pivot.

But yes the 3620 pivot can be called a doubtful one because there was difference of mere 15 pts . between the low of 2 bars i.e 11 am and 12 am bars, a visually obvious pivot should have had atleast 30-35 pts. difference.

I say it again, dont confuse the pivots with 5 bar etc. kind of a method, even a 4 or 3 bar move can form a pivot

Thanks.......if less no of bar then move should be bit more (or Sharp) but if we have sideways movement then we need more bar to form pivot: my veiw

That's what saint said somewhere....
Only thing is the pivot should be visual pivot
The 11AM bar is not Visual Pivot as the 12PM bar did not go high enough.

Just my thougts
Sam plz. dont this kind of a term as Saint's definition of a pivot, I am sure he will feel angry at this
