Hello Sir

Yesterday I took 3620 as the Pivot Low (3605 SAR), after your post indicating its not a valid SAR even for Agrro traders converted it into an intra trade and squared off everything at EoD, so carrying no position now ...

I was sure the 3620 pivot I traded was not for Pure Traders, so ok if ST and Rakesh also took it but seems Dr. Rana a Pure Trader also considered it as a pivot...

For identifying Pivots both amplitude and time are to be considered but surely there is no need to have mathematical rules, as Sir has been saying it is an art, no gain in trying to convert it into science ...

I think making a few mistakes along the way is ok, as long as we have something to learn from the mistakes being made.

The lesson learned for me was, need to wait for some more time before declaring it as a Pivot ...

Thanks

psj, I know your question is towords Saint
But let me try my understanding of pivot, if i am not correct, Saint please correct us.

Current Chart

Modified Chart
Thank You very much. Excellant example charts for me to ask further question and get clarified.

The second bar Low in both charts are below the first and third bar lows. Then what makes only the second chart to make Pivot.

regards,
PSJ

Ah,my friend......an attempt to make Art into Science, yet again:)......even without further progress of whatever it is that you are designing, let me tell you the outcome right here and now.

"Pivots and the Flow Methods do not work......everything is so vague.....too subjective.......may pull it off in trending markets, not sideways markets....too many whipsaws.......In a nutshell, this does not work."

You,more than anyone here in this forum, know how I see things.......this thread is still Art,not Science. It is still about living in the Now,and going with the Eye,and being in the Flow......something I doubt that any afl can capture.

But try if you must, but I guess that the conclusions will be as above........ Having said that, please do not forget that this methodology is being traded to great profits not just by me,but many others.

If this afl can beat our entries and exits and keep us from some unnecessary trades,I would be thrilled........although I sincerely doubt it.

Dear Saint

Attempt to make art into science..that is a problem of being an engineer. trying to put everything into systems

First of all I am not a disbeliever in the pivot system oops again system let us call it method.. If you remember I was one of first to come up with a Metastock code for pivots on a EOD chart in the early daysBy the way everything about TA is vague and subjective and I do work with TA.

Also I have clearly mentioned an AFL for ASSISTING the 60 min flow trader..

Reducing the whipsaws ..that is the next step..

Unfortunately I have a very bad habitI dont give up easilyLet me see where it will take me.. Whatever it is, It will not be an attempt to investigate and finally hang the methodrather an attempt to make science enhance the art..

Warm regards

the high of third bar actually qualifies the second bar as pivot.

You are right, the move of third bar breaching the high of 1 bar makes the 2 bar a pivot.
But some people say 'It does not have to breach the first bar, but an some kind of rally is required' I am also not sure what extent the 3rd bar should move up.
Anyone?
