What about 2 bar rule? We have a verticle move up with no Pivots, do we move the SAR to yesterdays 2 PM bars low less filter?
My views Sir....stops are not that far that we apply the 2 bar rule here. Doing that also would be fine, if you have already defined the extent of move w/o a pivot..the duration..etc etc. I havent yet, so going with 2941, hoping for a higher pivot to be formed though.

Rakesh
ps: we DONT take the help of 30 min in the flow method now.

I asked yesterday, and do so again. We have seen gain from PL of 2956 to 3178 with no down bars. Why isn't it appropriate to use 2 bar rule? That will put stop around 3061.

Rules dont say that we use 2 bar stop yet, but you can use it if its a personal preference, responsibilty of breaking the rules is upto you

Can you clarify what rules actually say when one should use two bar rule?

From Saint's post - When charts get vertical, steepish gradient, put stops at previous 2 bar low, exit long and go short if triggered. Missing the steep gradient, use pivots all the way.

Rakesh/Prabhjeet - What is your definition of steepish gradient? When did you last use two bar rule?

PS: I am not asking because I am scared to see my profits reduce. But in past I have missed some reversals (as per Saint, and/or Rakesh). Don't want to repeat that

Thanks Rakesh for your input!! No I have not defined any move quantum to apply the 2 bar rule!!!
When we say that the SAR is not far (in this case it is 3078 (2PM bar low) and 2956 PL, about 122 points!) here again the 'distance' has not been defined by me!!
I think we need to look more into such situations.

milind,
I do not think anyone can remember when was last time the 2 bar used, but check this link where I have posted the 2bar SAR in my companion guide thread, based on the date it shows its on 19th of last month probably. But If I remember correct on that occation the SAR did not get triggered but we use it as SAR for some time.
