Thanks Rakesh for your input!! No I have not defined any move quantum to apply the 2 bar rule!!!
When we say that the SAR is not far (in this case it is 3078 (2PM bar low) and 2956 PL, about 122 points!) here again the 'distance' has not been defined by me!!
I think we need to look more into such situations.
Thanks for your reply Sir. Now...frankly I have not yet got a trade which got triggered by the 2 bar rule...

My response is completely as per my understanding, so I wont be surprised if Saint says that yes...this IS the case where 2 bar rule need to be applied.

I am not doing it because I dont see the gradient as steepish..nor pivots very far away... but if someone does see it that way, they shd go with their own judgement.

If you take 3071 which is a clear pivot on 15 min, SAR is very near
Yes yashodhan there is one in 15 min and more pivots on 10 mins and so on!. But the point is we have to stick to rules and rule says we stick to 'only 60 mins pivots'. Otherwise each day there will be different rule to follow.(then its not called rule ) Consistancy always pays you back.
So do not consider 15, 30 etc only 60 minutes

milind,
I do not think anyone can remember when was last time the 2 bar used, but check this link where I have posted the 2bar SAR in my companion guide thread, based on the date it shows its on 19th of last month probably. But If I remember correct on that occation the SAR did not get triggered but we use it as SAR for some time.

Thanks Sam. So that time (Oct19) we had dropped about 200 points - 3263-3087 in two hours. How about Nov5 (I forget what rules said about this day, but I know I lost a bundle. in hindsight - this was aggresive gap reversal candidate), Sept29?

In such a case, when the pivot is not forming for 7-8 bars, will it be OK to consider yesterday's LOD as a pivot? I have seen many times HOD and LOD as good trading points.

FYI - most of stock futures I am tracking have reversed to Short - JPA, RCap, HDIL, RIL, LT. But I am using the rules bit more agressively and I could be wrong. Do your own analysis.
