I had thought this will eventually happen as these two threads are becoming very popular. A huge mass of trades being logged in at particular levels all identical is going to attract attention sooner or later.

From the very beginning I have been playing a variant which for the fear of disrupting the balance here never disclosed earlier.

I watch the SAR being hit and then wait for a pullback to enter. I never enter on SAR and nor do I put my order in advance. This is a dangerous game as prices move fast and may not give chance to enter as there may not be a pullback or your reflexes may be slow but luckily I have escaped without injury till now.

Few advantages - it gives me a second look at the market, gives me a better price to enter ( at least the brokerage is covered) and lesser risk as my stop loss points are lesser than the original.

But not recommended practice - very dangerous. Just my way of playing that is all.

Saint please excuse me for putting something which is injurious to steady and proper trading.

Although Bee seems to have taken it to another level, he's bang on.

IMO our tweaks(3 great ones posted in the last 2 pages) are going to be useless if they aren't properly hidden. Not posting the exact levels here will keep the tipsters away and hence reduce volume, but I suspect it'll still be high enough that the market markers(who're the real enemies) will still be able to identify them. It's not like the MMs need to browse traderji to find out where we're selling.

So to whoever can implement it, try and enter your stoploss closer to the actual SL value. No point entering the SL hours in advance(if you're going to sit by your screen anyway) and have it act as a giant neon welcome sign for the MMs. Let the value get closer(not too close) and then let the cat out of the bag.

Friends -
As Saint Sir has already mentioned earlier that this system is Simple but definitely not Easy.

For true / sincere learners , even we also have debates and arguments over the stops especially in case of Gaps/V Shapes/ where things are not as simple as it appears. It does become subjective at times during live market hours......... and we have had discussions over the same so many times and so the tweaks.....

Point is that for someone who is just trying to make money out of the levels mentioned here, by just taking the levels and using it ---- will definitely not survive for long ... couple of whipsaws or massive Gaps/V shapes and he will be gobbled up......
(Some mentioning regarding cnbc guys using this LOL.... really hilarious)

.... sincere and true learners....need not worry at all... they are the ones who will go far because of the the conviction...... of taking the the ownership and responsibility of the decision when pressing the button --- and that too keep doing it consistently again and again and again....

It is quite possible that the stops today have genuinely been taken out. OR even possible that there are sharks out there who are eating into the stops or even still that we are getting paranoid about it and market was indeed volatile today....

But flow .... there is ... and always will be. And Saint sir has taught us to flow.....

And no one can stop once the flow becomes strong.... And then we swim together....

To begin with ..... Not posting levels in this open forum ...does sound like a good idea... temporarily.... to me to begin with and discussions can be carried on.

Not keeping round figure stops is one thing which I generally do as a habit (Even though days like today they were eaten). Eg : if stop is 2650 to reverse to long , i keep it as 2650.2

Other than that regarding filter , Saint Sir should be the best to comment.

Regards
Inspire.

Have been feeling it for some time ...... whether paranoid or not is another question....

Making a change to this thread.

This will dent the popularity of this thread, but this thread was never for any popularity in the first place........this thread was always meant to educate and share, not to replace one's own efforts in backtesting and definitely not to get free levels to put in orders.

Let us therefore try just a simple thing out.........a minor change. We have a set common filter of 15/7 in case of NF and so on so forth for stock futures...Remove it.

A filter is required, but each and everyone use whatever filter that works best for himself/herself.All the participants of this thread already know the way we do things, but remove the "SAR at 2687+15" when posting in this thread.Instead put it as "2687+room".Those who are well versed with the method would backtest and put the filter where they find best. Those who are here to just pick on the points of SAR would not know what to do and would either learn or burn a hole in their pockets.

So,to all the seniors of this thread, stop all talk about how much a filter should be.Let there not be that one point at which all SARs are placed....I may be putting my SAR points in NF Rs 30 away,Rakesh 18 away,Smart 20 away,Amitbe 25 away,Satya 35 away.Don't be surprised with all the levels getting picked on,all at once though.........but this cannot happen again and again.

More importantly, this is not a Tips Thread, where people come in and swoop in on the SAR points, without a clue as to what this methodology is all about......Believe me,when I tell you, that there is a huge, huge section that does just that.

To cut the long story short:Keep the methodology as it is.........remove the rigid point of filter. How much NF Filter should be in a Reversal and how much it should be in an Add is now upto the individual, upto each and every one of us.

All the best!
Saint

I think everyone puts trigger orders which remain in the brokers' system till trigger is hit - only then it goes to the exchange to queue up for execution. It does not matter if you put trigger orders hours in advance. The space between trigger order and limit order is too small for anyone to react that fast.

Yes disclosing exact levels on this forum is something which has to be avoided at all costs. Filters are trade secret from now on. Discussions about problems with actual levels at EOD preferably.

No. All orders go to exchange via brokers immediately and we get confirmation from exchange within seconds most of the time during market hours. Only sometimes the confirmation from exchange is delayed due to heavy traffic.

You may right on the actual mechanism but orders which queue up for execution and visible to everyone is only after trigger is hit. Till then it may be in exchange or with broker (immaterial for the logic which I am trying make here) but the point is - it is not visible to any one (market movers here) for any strategic moves.
