May I hazard an explanation which is not crystallized as a rule. It was pointed out in 60min thread by saint.

In a Long trade, if we get a large down bar and the next bar is up close with a low below the low of previous large down bar, then the low of this up bar tends to behave like pivot and can be used to reverse the Long trade. (saint also linked it to 30min chart. The low of the up close bar would mostly have formed a PL on 30min chart).

vin

Thanks God for this daughter thread. Still not sure why 60 min had to close, but without this, I think, I would be too scared to trade. Thank you Rakesh. The old thread's contents will remain as it is ...right?

Then isn't it looks like a failed upmove then ..means a first big downmove at gap opening then second bar tries to cross the upside resistance , it goes very near but can't cross & when third bar crosses low of second bar means its all attempt to go up failed ,then we revert to short

its my view for sure ..saint can clarify

I agree with this view of Vinst, this kind of Pivot is used frequently in Miniflow

Would it be of any significance if the first large down bar that we get is the days first bar of just 5 minutes, where spikes are common? Will this fact change our decision on SAR?

Does the same applies when we are short.
we get a Large UP bar Next bar is down close with High above the high of previous Large Up bar ..then High of this down bar tends to behave like pivot and can be used to reverse the Short trade.

PS: Never heard of such rule being used in 60min????
