Re: Intraday Miniflow Trades for Today: Saint's Method

Request to people putting up coloured charts:). Kindly use blank, white or green for bullish candles and red or black for bearish candles. It is easier to the eye and easy to understand. Just a suggestion.:)
Thanks
Bee
also white background looks beautiful :)

Re: Intraday Miniflow Trades for Today: Saint's Method

Vineet,

I think you are wrong here. I do not trade 30 min miniflow (due to personal reasons) but follow the development of this method. The entry in 30 min has to be bar by bar with moving filter and not by pivot by pivot. Pivot by pivot is in pure flow method of 60 minutes where we have a basic premise that prices move in pivots in a trend and once a pivot is broken then trend is broken,we reverse. So pivots assume a major importance. Plus we have infinite time at our disposal for the pivot to form as we will always be in the flow.

In 30 minutes, it is basically take your profits and run. Time is very limited. So entry as per the bar by bar rule or 15 min TF pivot break helps to get in fast and out fast with our money as soon as target is realised. Pivots are a broad template in this method but have been tweaked to take into consideration time constraint. Now the reversal has to be by way of pivot break as that is one of the surest ways of knowing that the prices have reversed. So we put our stop losses pivot by pivot and not bar by bar.

Hope I am correct.

BEE,

Sorry to say I am fully disagree..bar by bar or mov fil is only for start because we found that sometimes market make big moves in start of day before making pivots like 7-1-09 ( satyam day)..thats why we keep big filter for that ..

after that when market makes pivot , we shift fully to pivot.we shift our entry to newly formed pivots after initial move is made..15 min tf if only upto 11.00 pm then we shift to 30 min tf.

i never take profit & run..even if i know that there is chartical resistance\support i take only 1/2 or 1/3 position not fully..

but still if you or seniors like ST feels that i am wrong here then plz tell me .i will be more then happy to correct myself if i am wrong somewhere..

regards

Re: Intraday Miniflow Trades for Today: Saint's Method

ok i will just twist the today scenario and let us clear the debate:

30 tf
------
till 11.30 bars are as it is ...we got a pivot at 11.00
now i will change the candles :
12.00 bar is hh,hl to 11.30 bar by just say 6 points (no trade trigger)
12.30 bar is hh,hl to 12.00 bar by just say 6 points (no trade trigger)
1.00 bar is hh,hl to 12.30 bar by just say 6 points (no trade trigger)
1.30 bar is hh,hl to 1.00 bar by just say 6 points (no trade trigger)
in the above case as per moving filter bar by bar trade is not triggered for someone....
BUT
if someone is taking entry in the above scenario as per pivot he would have
got his trade triggered at the most at 1.00 bar itself or maximum 1.30 at
the crack of 11.00 pivot...

so which is correct trading of the two case ...moving filter bar by bar even after pivot or taking long entry at 11.00 pivot...lets put aside all other timeframes andthis is a pure case we got on 30 tf...then how we would have dealt ?

this should clear confusion regarding the entry of pivots and bar by bar if its there any....

Oh! OK!! Vineet,

I was also talking for initial entry by bar by bar method -- after entry--- it is pivots all the way. I think I misinterpreted your earlier message.
Sorry

I will enter at 12.30 bar means at pivot high +small filter because i will shift filter only to a new pivot formed.not to a new bar .so when there is no new pivot formed i will stick to my level of pivot high+ small filter...

this is just my view & may be wrong

Correct.

Here is a quote from Saint Sir:

"Pivots on 30 are what we are looking for and salivating over......A break above 30min Pivots is a no-brainer.Reverse it there and then."

Though he has talked about reversals here, It should be good enough for entry as well.
