wtever bar u use...but this i apply only during day's end with good trend/flow and don't equate it for sar during normal trading....

Sir, What will be the safer time to exit considering ... if there is sudden Net Failure, Computer hang, Brokers phone are coming contiguously engage ... all the three at a time. Because if we can not close our position intraday and on another day if market Gaps down with big Gap ( For Ex.100), then we may be in big loss. So I keep my criteria to exit at 3.10 PM so that if all the three problems arise at at time, then I can go personally at Broker to close my positions Intraday. Am I right here?

If your broker's office is so nearby,you can go to his office on such trend days at 2:35 (after 2:30 bar is over) and trade last 1 hour from his dealing room.Otherwise having 2 brokers account,a spare broadband line and a spare computer connected to other broker's terminal ,A good UPS is necessary.But on trend days last 20 min will give you good profits (like they gave today).

If you dont have all this infrastructure,it is risky to keep positions open till 3:25.

What Criteria you use for trailing stops to protect profit ? is it pivot on 5 min or bar by bar on 5 min or anything else?

Manoj, this is what I do. My aim is to trade upto 3:20 max. That gives me 10 minutes to call the broker in case of a problem. Today I got out at 3:16.

if we are long like today:

From 3 p.m : Whenever the high of the previous 5 min bar is taken out move stops to previous 5 min bar low - 3. This continues till 3:15. At 3:15 I put stop at 3:15 5 min bar low (that is bar from 3:10 to 3:15) as soon as it is complete.

From 3:15 to 3:20, I put stop at each 1 min bar low as it completes. If I am not stopped out by 3:20, I exit. Today exited at 2715.
