Saint,

Had a feeling that I left too much on the table. Was there a way to cover our short position earlier than at 3881 we did on 2 bars method on 30 ?

ST,

Can u brief here the 2 bars method after market hours?

It will be useful for me.

Thanks.
Trillian,

Just copied a post I found in 60 min flow. Will be useful to you.
Sorry for the late reply. No power at home.

As mentioned right in the beginning of this thread by Saint
When charts get vertical,steep-ish gradient, put stops at previous 2 bar low, exit long and go short if triggerred (or vice versa)..........No steep gradient,no using this method, then it's pivots all the way.

Was going thru the posts right from beginning over past few days. This post from Saint will throw some light on the 2 bar employed (Sesa Goa Example)

Also, another post from Saint wherin he has explained regarding the above chart will help

2 bar method not be used in case of NF. Vertical moves, Steep Gradient, Huge Gaps in NF a lot has been discussed about referring to 30mins et al. Essentially pivots are our strength when dealing with the NF Beast You may need to refer to the discussions around 16-20 Sep.

I share the same feeling ST, we left 100 pts. on table even with our 2 bar method and ended up making mere 75 despite our early entry.

Dont know it yet but I think we can even get down to 5 min. pivots when we have such huge profits and are left with may be 1 hour of trading and probably just get out without reversing.

I am sure better ideas will develop as the thread gets older

Cheers for profits anyway:)

BTW, JPA was very obedient follower today and I made 13 pts. on Paper today, wish I had put real paper into trade

Seniors,
I didnot reverse because no senior responded to my query. Continued to be short till the end. It was enjoyable.

Look at 20 min charts, there was hammer with big tail - highest volume bar of the day. Also on 5 min there was minor pivot high at around same level that of 20 min bar high. This indicates exhaustion which can be used to book most of the position.

Instead of keeping stops at pivots when we are fag end of the day and we are so much in profit, is it better to protect them? Especially when just 1 hr is left should we even think of reversing? Only V shaped recoveries call for reversal in the above scenario, but how frequent are these V-shpaed moves?
Of course backtesting is the solution before we put in such tweaks.

Saint,

Excuse me if I have put in something nonsense.

Thanks,
Amit
