Will add this example to Hari's reply to illustrate.

Here is the tick list for Mini on Fri:

095506,3675.10,20.00
095510,3700.00,20.00
095514,3703.10,20.00
095518,3703.50,20.00

See the first two ticks, price started moving smoothly only from the second tick. The first one is just stray. Whether to ignore the wrong tick or not is something I am not too clear about.

What I do is compare it with Nifty ticks and then ignore it if it looks way out of place and keep a larger filter on that side. That larger filter prevented me from entering short till the pivot cracked.

The thing you said is absolutely correct. We at most times end up in loss on the first trade which initiated against the gap, especially from the second bar.

The solution as you said, the second point can be adapted too to prevent such a trade.

We need to thoroughly check many months charts to take it as a tweak or you can take this tweak as a personalisation of you mini-flow trading.

I think such loosing trades are not many...and also we will be looses some interesting trade if apply this tweak.

In-short...need through back testing for finalise.

Jatayoo...you can try this on the coming days and give us results of this tweak after 4 or 5 months.

Honestly, I do not have sufficient knowledge and perhaps the technolodgy to backtest an idea.
The best thing I have is "trade tiger' and 'PIB".
Perhaps, if you kindly suggest what systems / software i need then i shall definately do my best, because I plan to do full time trading on my superannuation on 30 th June 2009.:clapping::clapping::clapping:

That shows the tremendous edge we have in this system...out of total 81 days,on only 20 days,the first trade is a loss and 61 days the first trade has given profits....and out of 61 profitable days,32 days gave a follow-on trade.

I am encouraged to trade larger initial position,50% on first add and 25% on 2nd add.

You only need historical charts and an excel for back testing intra-day miniFlow.
Just get historical intraday charts and do trade as we are doing...put the results in the excel sheet...and do trade as per your tweak...put it in another excel sheet...compare the result...simple na?

Thanks. Just I have given my factual findings about NF miniflow trades from 1/1/9. I didn't want to mask members with my conclusion simply because many good interpretations may come as already done by ST.

Most Welcome. Now a days I limit myself to NF miniflow only. 60 min NF flow I track, but don't trade. I do analyze in weekends during some free time. I will post whenever I get something interesting.
