paul,

my default setting for SL, TP are 40 pips which work most of the times for me or else i adjust according to S & R visible by naked eyes

rishi

Rishi, do you use something ulterially do determine TP? The reason I'm asking the question that way is that there seems to be no visible means of support or resistance, other than what could conceivably be some sort of chart S or R.

try this modification to your methodology...!

Add a stoch with default setting to you chart. This is going to be your timer and stoploss generator and TP1

the crossover of stochK and stochD from below is your signal to enter long in the direction prescribed by guppy.

the lowest low of the last 3 bars from the point of crossover is your stoploss.

Entry is with full capacity.

exit is 50% at a distance that covers the distance from entry - stoploss. This makes the other 50% free.

Trail the other 50% till it hits or we have a divergence on the oscillator.

Add to position when fresh entry to position is in deep profit or market is single time framing.

benefit of this kind of trade management is that we ride the good trades till exhaustion. We rely on 20% of the total trades for 80% of our profit. Means we can afford to be wrong more often and still make a killing....!

Linkon, thank-you for your input. I have been trading the Guppy method on my demo account with modest success.

I assume you might add to your trade when you could a pullback to the investors' MA's?

Rishi, some pairs move much faster than others. As an example, the GBP/NZD and EUR/GBP is symbolic of the tortoise and the hare. Do you account for a pair's velocity in determining the TP? (That is with the exception of the "visible" S&R's as you described.

Hi Linkon

Thanks for your inputs, i will test that out for sure. Can you define (or point to a link) for what you mean by single time framing.

I am aware its one of the day types classified by Market profile, i have also read few other define it based on high/low on 30 mins charts. i am sure you have some easier way to spot it :)

Thanks
