Currently I am following a manual method for this conversion.

The same is as follows:
Step 1: GO to www.nseindia.com > indices> statistics > Historical Data of NSE Indices; put the index name and from-to date. (See Step1.bmp)

Step 2: Download the CSV file created ( see S&P CNX NIFTY1320062032006samplefile.csv)

Step3: Convert the data to Metastock compatible format in XLS
The sample data format is S&P CNX.XLS.

Step 4: Convert this XLS by MS downloader.

Problem is each day I have to manually update CSV files for each targeted index, convert the same to XLS file and update.

Can the download and convert ( upto XLS) of selective indices be automated based on from and to date?

Hello Dawode,

I have my data in a xls file then i run a VB code (i can send it to you) on running this code it asks the file name in which to save(it will save this data into a xxx.txt file (xxx is the name you selected). then it asks you for separator you select "," , then it creates a txt file with the data.
this is my email[email protected]
