Long or Short Opinion

Welcome Back nimish. Long time no see...hope everything is fine.

Everything is fine left UK came to India busy setting up a few business ventures going to Hong Kong on 9th of sept. Will try to trade regularly post diwali.

Sorry to bump in crown, are you talking of shorting the nifty or the frontline stocks?

Just a piece of advice crown.

U r short in market and other stocks. So u will try to see most of the market constituents short. This is human tendency. Although i am short too. And many experienced traders are long at the same time. Every body has his own belief system. reason i am telling you this is that, on the first evidence of you proven wrong, you should be mentally and practically ready to reverse your positions. Most traders lose cause they dont accept this thing. They stick to their belief system untill they are broke. So on first sign of position gaining strength on opposite side of you, make an exit and if confirmation is there, then REVERSE.

now I have made my mind to go along with the market, if it goes down I look for short and if it goes up I look up for longs.

And one good thing with me, which happened after a very long time is that
now almost all of my trades are hitting
Though I couldn't enter short on TCS and BankIndia today because of some technical problems; but the very fact that they gone weak after giving a strong opening, does give good confidence to me with respect to my understanding
Also, Nifty going weak after a gap up opening
I dunno about the future i.e. what will happen; but at present things are too cool
in case Nifty gives signal of going long, no matter what profit and loss I will be having onmy current short positions; but I will surely be going along with the flow i.e. long

Is there any defined SAR by you for converting short into long?

till now I have no defined SAR to have.
I can only decide after seeing the charts on EOD basis.

I think nifty is on a crucial juncture for the day trade short below 5440 SAR 5455 target 5420(first) and go long above 5465 SAR 5440 target 5480.

On the swing basis nifty needs to hold 5400 and any rapid fall like that on friday can lead to a deeper cut.

Bring the stop loss down to 5420 target now 5380.

If 5380 not breaking.. then i have a feel that it will close above 5400 levels..

can be risky with market sentiment unknown. Still if you want to buy, keep a close eye on 107...thats the point of resistance...If that point is broken with good volume then you can see further upmove...
