Hi biggles, as I've lately been interested in VSA too I ask you what's the link of that thread you mentioned... I've tried to make a search but no luck.

There are some interesting VSA discussions on traderlaboratory too and there I've found a couple of VSA related formula by a guy nicknamed Anonymous originally written for VT, MetaStock compatible anyway (yet some logic changes are needed to accomodate them in MS language).

i read a good discussion on volume spread analysis on this site(karthik..'s thread). My question is, is there an exploration or indicator for this technique in metastock, something like the AFL on that thread for amibroker?

Do you want these two conditions to be covered at the same time or both conditions are to be written separately. This is my doubt. That is why I asked you to go a little more detail. Please post. I think I can try giving you this formula.

I again repeat. Condition 1 and condition 2 are to be combined and given or both are separately to be given?

jaykumar, thks for Reply,but no both the conditiond are seprate(i.e Two diff conditions--stoch ---1) Adx ---2).but in conditions 1) both the stoch should cross simultaneously in range of 2 bars (i.e in both slow & fast ---blue line should cross red line)

And regarding the first one, do you want the moving average and Stochs, exiting 20 value in less than 2 periods? Please confirm. Please mention in detail. Don't keep a two line requirement. If required please post an example chart.

And here is the formula for the second one (+ DI and -DI with ADX)

PDI(14)>MDI(14) AND ADX(14)> MDI(14) AND ADX(14)< PDI(14) AND Cross(ADX(14),18)

Please confirm this.

thanks ajaykumar, i will try with this formula, in meantime as suggested by you for stoch .condition
what i want actually is fast & slow stoch (both with %k & %d line) cutting its avg (5,3,3) together upside or downside.

Cross(Stoch(5,3),20) AND Cross(Mov(Stoch(5,3),3,S),20)

And my observation is the crossover is always happening in 2 bars maximum. So I ignored that and took only the simultaneous cross.

In case you want even that 2 bar delay also to be incorporated, then please tell me why you want that.

i think i was not able to explain you properly,what i desire is two seprate indicator
1) slow stoch(5,3,3,)
2) fast stoch (5,3,3)which is inbuilt in metstocjk as stoch oscilator.

so first is create slow stoch indicator and then have crossover formula for both in 1 or 2 bars.u can refer for reference a aytechnical chart of yahoo (where both the indicators are sepreate or also view in www.icharts.in---charts(old).
or if u have done it properly ,then pls explain how do i proceed

Cost of carry indicator

Dear traderji/all,

Am searching for the formula of cost of carry indicator(not a expert system) .and explorer(coc) for metastock.

Can u /anybody hellp me on regarding the above probs sir.


i have the formula . but i dont know how to write in metastock (indicator and explorer).

Please help me

Formula is =

COC= future price of the underlying/cash price of the underlying* 100.

futureprice of underlying= future price of stock/nifty
cash price of underlying= spot/cash price of stock or nifty
