No change in Open Positions from last time.

Adding a new feature called "Academic Interest". Here I will mention some stocks that made interesting moves after entry signal by the system. Since I am fully invested I cannot add more stocks to my position. The ones missed out will be mentioned here. Here goes.

Academic Interest:

1) Astrazeneca Pharma buy triggered above 2299 on 4th April 2012. Today's high - a mind boggling 2645.

2) BOC India buy triggered above 465 on 29th March 2012. Today's high - 526.

3) Rushil Decor buy triggered above 225 on 4th April 2012. Today's high - 254.5

Open Positions:

1) Ajanta Pharma bought on 13th Mar @ 436.45, SL below 500.5
2) Gravita India bought on 29th Mar @ 646.1, SL below 659
3) Kajaria Ceramics bought on 30th Mar @ 168.5, SL below 168.4
4) Bata India bought on 2nd Apr @ 797, SL below 794.5
5) TVS Motor shorted on 9th Apr @ 42, SL above 43.8

Note: Words in Bold denote a change from the last post (esp. SL).

Highlights:

My longs might have given the impression of underperforming slightly (relative to some others that I put under the Academic Interest section) but look what happened today.
Gravita India almost hit 20% Upper Circuit intraday & closed up 17%! This is commendable as this is not a penny stock. Average NSE volumes for this stock are a healthy 1 lakh shares ~ Rs. 6-7 Crores daily. Today's volumes - 14 lakh just on NSE. Good moves from Ajanta Pharma & Bata as well.

Moral of the story - Dont chase stocks. Enter into good positions & wait for your just rewards. If your homework is good, the market will reward you. It might test your patience but ultimately it will reward you. Happy trading.

Open Positions:

1) Ajanta Pharma bought on 13th Mar @ 436.45, SL below 500.5
2) Gravita India bought on 29th Mar @ 646.1, SL below 795
3) Kajaria Ceramics bought on 30th Mar @ 168.5, SL below 168.4
4) Bata India bought on 2nd Apr @ 797, SL below 808.5
5) TVS Motor shorted on 9th Apr @ 42, SL above 42.45

Note: Words in Bold denote a change from the last post (esp. SL).

Highlights:

Gravita again continues to move up - Gained almost 9% Intraday before ending up 5.5%. Bata continues to be strong. Ajanta Pharma & Kajaria Ceramics appear to be consolidating before their next moves. Of course, we dont know whether those moves will happen.

As traders our job is to act on what we see & so far what we have seen from the above stocks has been good. Too many times traders try to outsmart the market by having opinions & views on where a stock is headed. Lets leave the opinion making to the experts on tv. Our job is to make money, not offer advice :)

This is a really good time to make money as although the index is indecisive, individual stocks esp. in the midcap space are flying as you would see from the below example.

Academic Interest:

Vakrangee Software gave a Buy as per the system on 14th Mar @ 24. High on 13th Apr - 35.5. Potential gains = 48%.

Note: I shall be unavailable for the next few days & hence, all new updates on positions will only be on Sunday.

Hello. I am using a proprietory system i.e. it is not taken from some of the other trading threads here in traderji.com although those systems seem to be really good as well. This wouldnt be an appropriate forum to discuss the system in detail. Send me a test mail on jsr_diamond at yahoo dot com and I shall send you some info. All the best in your trading.

2) Kajaria Ceramics bought on 30th Mar @ 168.5, SL below 170.5
3) Bata India bought on 2nd Apr @ 797, SL below 808.5. SL Hit. Exit @ 808. Profit = 1.4% Hit a low of 807 & ended the day 4% up at 858! Thats how the cookie crumbles sometimes :)
4) TVS Motor shorted on 9th Apr @ 42, SL above 42.45
5) Renuka shorted on 23rd April @ 32.05, SL above 34.6.

Note: Words in Bold denote a change from the last post (esp. SL).

Academic Interest:

1) Tata Motors gave an entry @ 277 on 30th Mar 2012. High of 320.5 on 20th April. Potential gains = 16%
2) VST Industries gave an entry @ 1510 on 2nd April 2012. High of 2009 on 18th April. Potential gains = 33%

Lesson: There are always better stocks than the ones currently in your "long term" portfolio. If you wouldnt buy a stock (which is in your portfolio) at today's prices then it probably doesnt deserve to be there. Move to stronger stocks and make your money there rather than hoping for beaten down stocks to turn around. They might not, ever!

Always remember what happened to RCOM (and several others). It hit an all-time high of 844 in Jan 2008. Four years later, today, it is down to 80.4 - a massive 90% erosion in capital. From here the stock will have to give returns of 950% to get back to its all-time high! And this stock was considered a "fundamentally strong" stock at that time. Trade safe. Trade wise.
