From my own experience as a full time trader trading for living for last many years I can very confidently say that Technical Analysis works. It not only works but it is also an essential tool if you want to trade with Swing trading or Intraday trading style.

But will one become a great trader by only knowing TA ? There is no guarantee....all guys attending cricket coaching sessions dont become Tendulkars....do they ? Trading requires great amount of efforts to understand the market, the trends,the environments,psychology of the market participants, understanding risk/reward,probability,stayng out of marginal trades,position sizing....and all that takes lots of time and efforts.....so by just learning some patterns and trendlines no one can become a master trader.

I cannot imagine myself trading without TA and charts......but there are traders who trade very well without TA......they trade on news, inside news of who is buying/selling etc.....that works great for them...TA works great for me.

The above are my views....I have no interest in getting into fruitless arguments on whether TA works ....just thought of putting down my views as thread starter genuinely trying to search answers to questions which I too had few years ago when I started out.

Hmmm Now a days I am replying some good questions. This is good, that is bad, bhai Bhagwan bhi kisi ko sikha ke nahi bhejta. Aur ek baat likh lo, ek bachha jo 12-13 mahine ka hai wo har cheez ki taraf bhagta hai usko pakdta hai aur muh mai dalta hai, is tarah use idea hoti hai ki kon se cheez muh mai dalne se jal jati hai tounge. Human nature hai ki wo apni galtiyo se hi sikhta hai. Ha ek aur baat jo insano ko sab se alag karti hai wo hai "Curiosity".

Kisi bache ko aap bolo ki beta use jhona mat, Aap likh lo 1st hance milte hi woh pahle use hi chuaga.

In sab bato ka ek hi matlab hai thokar kha kar sambhalo, pahle se sambhal kar chalne wale jab thokar khate hai to uth nahi pate. Ise liye jo hua usko phir se sochoo, kaha galti hui usko samjho aur dobara wo galti nahi karne ki kasam kha lo. Ek baat likh lo, har koi kabhi na kabhi thokar khata hai kyu ki wo thokar hi kamyabi ki taraf le jati hai.

Good morning Traderji, Seniors, and my all frnds. I ve posted 1 thread earlier also but i m very much disappointed that no one is giving me satisfactory answer. Plzzz forgive me if i m rude . May b becoz i m big looser thats y i m frustrated so plzz forgive me for my unhealthy behaivour. I read number of articles on net , in which i found that - 1. Technical Analysis is Artificial intellegence, 2. Technical analysis is Vodoo, 3. Someone has told me - Technical analyst aur koi kam accha kar sakta ho ya na kar sakta ho lekin technical analyst harne ke baad apni har ka karan bahut acchi tereh samjha sakta hai ,4. Someone has told me ki jab Technical analysis bani thi , tab intra day nahi bana tha-- tou fir intra day trading technical analysis ke through successful kaise ho sakti hai.5. Koi kehta hai ki every tipser is a looser - kyunki khudke pas paise bachte nahi lagane ko , tou wo doosre ko gyan deta hai(he is tipser becoze he is having knowledge of technical analyst) , 6. Koi kehta hai ki agar SEBI ke rules mein ye ho jaye ki har Technical analyst (advisor) ka 3 years ka successful record hona chahiye tou fir poore india mein ek bhi advisory company na rahe. 7. Koi kehta hai ki technical analysis ki books khud hare hue logon ne likhi hai .8. Koi kehta hai ki jo log technical analysis ki classes provide karvate hain plus technical analysis par based tips dete hain wo log khud kyun nahi bazar se kama lete.------------- Halaki kuch log aise bhi hain jo technical analysis ko accha bhi kehte hain. I M SO MUCH CONFUSED . Kuch log ye bhi kehte hain ki Sachin Tendulkar ke guru khud kabhi sachin tendulkar nahi ban sakte, isliye teachers ko galat thahrana galat hai. Agr koi IAS (INDIAN ADMINISTRATION SERVICES) ki preparation karta hai aur mehnat karta hai tou wo sure pas hoga, lekin kya agar koi Technical analysis ki study karta hai ,aur mehnat karta hai tou kya wo is bazar mein sure paas hoga? . Kahi aisa tou nahi ki main sari zindgi Technical analysis seekhne mein nikal dun aur uske baad mujhe pata chale ki ye cheej hi galat hai ------ Progress has little to do with speed but much to do with direction so its always better to concentrate on direction rather than speed . Main 1 year ye janne mei laga dun ki Technical analysis kaam karti hai ya nahi karti ye kahi behtar hai is baat se ki main 10 saal baad ye sochun ki main Technical analysis ki teref galat enter hua. Plzz senior members i need your interference in this matter. Main aaj aap logon ki teref bahut umeedon se dekh raha hun . Plzz main chahunga sabse ki sach bolne ka sahas jutayein - aur bhi sach hai use samne layeing , chahe wo kitna bhi badttar kyun na ho. I request seniors ki plzz sir view karke is thread ko na jayein, reply zaroor karein . Plzz wo log reply na karein jinhe knowledge na ho ki Technical analysis kaam karti bhi hai ya nahi, kyunki isse confusion aur barega. Aap logon ko ho sakta hai ki aisa lage ki main cycic hoon, main mafi chahunga jin logo ko main hurt kar raha hun. Plzz koi bhi bura na maniyega, aur plzz mujhe samajhne ki koshish kijiyega. Plzz forgive my language. Mujhe sirf 2 hi baaton ka jawab chahiye ----- 1. Technical analysis kaam karti hai ya nahi ,2. Agr karti hai tou kya intra day mein bhi karti hai ?------------ plzz reply my above 2 question in yes or no. Mujhe ghuma fira kar jawab milta hai tou samajh nahi aata. Mera Traderji par bahut bharosa hai, maine iske bare mein accha suna hai - tou socha ki ye ek zariya hoga sach janne ka. Maine ye sach janne ki pehle bhi bahut koshish ki , lekin mujhe nahi mila......... Main chahta hun ki sach janne ki shuruat yaha se ho aur ant bhi yahi ho, i mean mujhe kahi aur na jana pare iski vastvikta janne k liye. Maine kabhi kisi se nahi poocha ki Technical analysis kitni mushkil hai , kyunki usse mujhe fark nahi parta, kyunki rasta kitna bhi mushkil ho manzil mujhe mil hi jayegi----- lekin mainse sabse ye zaroor poocha ki Technical analysis kaam karti hai ya nahi karti.. Plzz i repeat mera intention kisi ko hurt karne ka nahi hai, if i hurt someone then i really feel sorry for that, plzz forgive me and forgive my language,,, aap logon ke reply par mera future khara hai.. Mujhe bahut umeedein hain aap logon se , aur mere father ko bahut umeedein hain mujhse.. thnx all of frnds , seniors and traderji..

What will a technical trader think?
Price will bounce of it right?
but,but,but.....
Who is MOVING THE MARKET?
BIG MONEY(BIGGIES)........
-What do they think?
-they know where u r going to enter....
-they know where your stops r.......
-they also know that many of you will be waiting for a break of support for short entry....
Now some questions for U....
-what do u thing they will do?
-where they will be getting the cheapest and large no of fills?

Hmm, I like to hear the truth.

Could you tell me how they get a lot of fills at the cheapest possible price with out taking by them selfs much risks?

Or do they take all the risk just to be there and then bite the small traders and move the market by having all the risk on there side or how does it work?

this was just an answer to this question of Harshit,

i just gave him the direction.....
There may be n number variations to what i said....
also i have just shown u the correct direction now u have to work for it,for ur progess,
many people spend there life learing technical analysis but they didnt get to know what the biggies r doing,especially intraday....
-if every body is going to buy at the support than who is going to sell?
-if every one is going to sell resistance than who is going to buy....
Remember-Biggies dont fight trend they just put traps to take ur money forcefully......:thumb:

if u r already successful than may be u wont agree with me (its okay) and my post was not against u or technical analysis i just said that its application of technical analysis which is important

Do they take all the risk when selling them naked to the dummies or how doe's it work?

dear dan,
whenever biggies buy in case of breakdown of support there buying is supported by many professionals who see them buying on tape/level2,
now these people just put the price in the previous support region where many breakdown traders r having SL there buying is going to give signals to a lot of other indicator & technical traders to buy (as Supp/Resistance are zones)
they r getting the signal to buy but this time in sync with biggies..
& thus the price moves up.....:thumb:
Also i just wrote it to help HARSHIT to understand the essence of TA,many people may or may not understand it.......:hap2:

O, Zaveri bhai, why you waste your breath explaining? You are just an ordinary fellow like me, so whatever you say of the biggies, someone will jump up to argue on it. Now, do you think anyone has the guts to ask William Eckhardt to explain his following quotes, which basically say the same thing?:
