Hi Saint,

Any value in keeping pyramid retails for medium term?. Purchased around 215 and the stoploss of 197 triggered. However, I am not in a hurry unless there is no future for this scrip in the short to medium term.

Thanks,
Balaji.

hi sanjay,
thanks for the link.
I also want to know that what will be the trend of the market in next few days. last week i have over all profit of 10% and i didn't sell all the shares now i have overall loss of 1.5% within three day's means my overall portfolio is down 11.5% within three days. all my shres are good recommended by seniors. Now i am worried wether to quit from the market now or sould i wait a little more?
one more thing most of my recommendation is long term so should i wait for long term.
So pl. help me any senior member.

One should be guided by the Stop-Loss of particular counter under such conditions.
Still my beleif is that such corrections are needed for market and could well be utilized to accumulate great counters as portfolio stocks.

Hi Ahmed,

It is your call whether to sell the stocks in your portfolio or not.

If you are a trader, follow the stoploss concept and exit as soon as the stoploss is triggered.

However, if you are an investor, you could hold the fundamentally good scrips even if the stoploss is triggered. If you do not know whether the stock you are holding is fundamentally strong or not, you should ask seniors like saint.

Thanks,
Balaji.

This is for all the seniors for strongly advocating stops. I think I saved a bundle today due to that. I got completely stopped out of my portfolio today (had auto stops on ICICIdirect) except in Punj LLoyd that stuck above 1045. And the stocks still kept falling. Hopefully will get a chance to re enter next week. Any way the last 3 weeks (my total exp in trading) have been an eventful ride. Went up up and up and then down all the way. Guess some one up there is trying to contribute to my education by running thru so many scenarios in a short span :)

cheers

Hello Ahmed

The senior members have already answered your specific question.

Being a novice trader myself, I can empathize with your situation; its very hard to see all your gains vanish in just 3 days.

Discipline is the most important thing in trading. Before you enter any trade make sure you are aware of the risk reward ratio, take only accepted risks, and this keeps emotions at bay when the position turns adverse.

Do read about trading psychology and position sizing (Money Management), you will find excellent material on this forum, I may provide you links to them, but just in case you decide to browse you may end up reading better stuff.

Regards
Sanjay
