stop loss in icicidirect

wanted to know how you can have stoplosses on the stocks for multiple days. I see that it is only effective for a day and in this case, everyday one needs to put the stoplosses ..

is there a way to to overcome this ?

This is for all the seniors for strongly advocating stops. I think I saved a bundle today due to that. I got completely stopped out of my portfolio today (had auto stops on ICICIdirect) except in Punj LLoyd that stuck above 1045. And the stocks still kept falling. Hopefully will get a chance to re enter next week. Any way the last 3 weeks (my total exp in trading) have been an eventful ride. Went up up and up and then down all the way. Guess some one up there is trying to contribute to my education by running thru so many scenarios in a short span :)

cheers

Hi Mohit,

First of all,great attitude,my friend.

And,as you have rightly said, take your stops when hit.Can always buy it back lower, some will trigger you out and run upwards.Importantly, discipline is important.

Punj Lloyd especially was a good stop to take. The reason to get in is now gone, and an area of support that had held for some time is broken. As of now, from the daily chart perspective,it is back in a downtrend.

All the best!

Dear Saint,

Even in such a market, pidilite is up with great strength... can you please comment on this counter?

Alok.
Hi Alok,

Agreed on the relative strength part, but not a reason to buy.May or may not go up higher a bit more, but not if you are playing the intermediate term. For the intermed term players in PIDILITE,expect a correction to set in soon.

If you are playing the short term,in only with a stop at 101.

Happy Trading!

i am planing to apply for RELIANCE PETROLEUM LTD shares...can u advice me on this.........thanx
Hi Sandy

I don't usually do things the IPO way.I prefer to wait till it comes into the mkt before deciding to pounce on it or not. So,probably not the right person to help you with this one.

Dear Saint,
Thanks for Pidilite.
I am already in this counter for about 2-3 months from Rs. 74 level and I see this counter gaining 4-5 Rs. every week... I'm playing it from 6 months perspective.

Thanks.
