Raj,
which is good one for positional pair trading. confusion in current series & next month series.

Suppose, today morning current series MAX_OI pair 8500-8500 trading near 252 and next month series MAX_OI pair 8100-8700 trading near 190.

I've sold Jan' series pair near 190.

What is the SEBI regulation? Can you post the link ?
In simple words new SEBI rule bans unregistered professional tipsters and other similar people. SEBI has already banned some high profile unregistered tips providers.

For TJ it means tipsters can't post tips and lure people to their paid services.

Those posters who explain their method freely in posts here and are not luring people to paid services can continue as before.

Those who are not tipsters/fraudsters need not worry.

Specifically for you: You are openly explaining you method, freely sharing your tools, not luring anyone to paid sites. So unless mods specifically say something please continue as usual.

link to SEBI pdf:
But these Gut instinct or Just a feeling type of advisors wont be able to post in public forum unless they have SEBI registration and comply with all reporting and inspection provisions.

some more posts:

Nothing to fear for real traders/investors ...only tipsters are worried and closing down their shops. It is no more fruitful for them to hang around here if they cannot solicit clients for their services.

SEBI regulation has nothing to disturb genuine posters...but tipsters will have problems going forward that is for sure...

Raghuveer, You said it right. SEBI guidelines apply only to professionals who derive an income from or write or appear on TV or have paid subscription services, (which are now flourishing by the day) The opinions expressed by these guys can impact public sentiment. SEBI cannot ban freedom of speech, which in case of the forum is only expression of opinion.
My understanding of this SEBI pdf is that it does not apply to most people, posters in forums. I am just a lay person (not a lawyer, advisor etc) so I could be wrong, just an opinion of mine.

As per pdf only below types of people cannot post/comment/advise without registration etc.

These new rules apply to:
(g) "fund manager" includes fund managers of a mutual fund or alternative
investment fund or venture capital fund or portfolio manager;
(h) "independent research analyst" means a person whose only business activity is research analysis or preparation and/or publication of research report;
(j) "investment adviser" means any person registered under Securities and
Exchange Board of India (Investment Advisers) Regulations, 2013;
(k) “limited liability partnership” means a partnership formed and registered
under The Limited Liability Partnership Act, 2008(6 of 2009);
(l) “merchant banking or investment banking or brokerage services” includes,-
(p) "proxy adviser” means any person who provide advice, through any means, to institutional investor or shareholder of a company, in relation to exercise of their rights in the company including recommendations on public offer or voting recommendation on agenda items;
(t) "relative" means a person as defined in sub section (77) of section 2 of the
Companies Act, 2013 and who is financially dependent on independent
research analyst or individual research analyst employed by research entity;
(u) “research analyst” means a person who is primarily responsible for,-
i. preparation or publication of the content of the research report; or
ii. providing research report; or
iii. making 'buy/sell/hold' recommendation; or
iv. giving price target; or
v. offering an opinion concerning public offer,
with respect to securities that are listed or to be listed in a stock exchange,
whether or not any such person has the job title of 'research analyst' and
includes any other entities engaged in issuance of research report or
research analysis.
Explanation.-The term also includes any associated person who reports
directly or indirectly to such a research analyst in connection with activities
provided above;
(v) "research entity" means an intermediary registered with Board who is also
engaged in merchant banking or investment banking or brokerage services
or underwriting services and issue research report or research analysis in its
own name through the individuals employed by it as research analyst and
includes any other intermediary engaged in issuance of research report or
research analysis;
Happy to see that a tips giving company is barred.

We all have to get used to these regulations. But I dont think genuine discussions of set up, method and learning will suffer. Example is we have number of good books which never mention "buy sell levels and targets" but still they are able to aid learning and sharing..

Below is mods response to some poster who was asking people to contact by email for further "explanation":
Kindly read the notice ( the text is reproduced below :

Keeping in mind the requirement of the new SEBI Research Analysts Regulations 2014, no member can provide trading calls, give buy/sell recommendations, post price targets or any such opinion related to the price movement of any security or an IPO listed or to be listed in any of the exchanges in India.

You are violating forum rules by asking people to contact you by e mails...please stay away from such practices....

Correct ,but even in set up type learning threads avoid giving recommendations, targets.See how reputed Fund Managers talk on TV, they talk about being bullish/bearish , condition of the market but never give specific targets and levels....not because they cannot forecasts but they are prohibited by SEBI in Mutual Funds and Fund Managers and also individual funds regulations.

ST
Raghuveer, rules are rules they are to be followed.else forum will come under fire from SEBI..we will ensure that no genuine trader is penalised for some minor violation...

No one is wanting to ban good people/good threads....most of tipsters threads are folding up on their own .All people banned are far from being called as good posters...be sure of that.

Smart_trade
no no...we want our good threads to continue ...even a minor violation we will not be very strict but a repeated and wilful violation is to be viewed seriously.

I just now deleted a thread. There people were asked to post their e mail IDs and someone was "adding " them somewhere and inspite of warning the thread starter was defiant . In such case what does one expect forum to do ?? wait and allow them to divert the people to some outside forum,group etc or delete the thread ?? I took the second option.

Smart_trade
Discussions about stocks,methods,posting charts ,discussing methods everything is allowed...no issues..but saying something like buy at this price....the target is so and so price in these many days...that is not allowed unless one is a SEBI certified analyst holding SEBI certificate. So levels,targets,sureshot calls...80 or 100 % correct calls etc are not allowed now.

Smart_trade
SEBI's intention is very clear .It wants to protect general investors and traders from tipsters who are not regulated, they have no research facilities. These people come on TV,Print media, forums, and people believe their tips. SEBI wants that such analysts do real research and comply with reporting and inspection. Any SEBI regulation is for protecting common investor and bringing transperency in securities market. It is not concerned whether the market goes up or down or who buys and sells but it wants to ensure that there are no malpractices in the securities business.

This I have already posted 2-3 times..but this scare is created by some people for reasons best known to them.

I once again state that a genuine poster has nothing to be scared...without giving tips,levels,forecasts etc sharing can be done...so genuine posters can continue posting their methods....

But if scare is spread to put pressure on Mods/Admin, it wont succeed...that people should have learnt by now :D The forum owners are serious about complying with SEBI regulation.

Raghuveer you are right !!! there is no need to get panic..some guys are running out for cover only because they use this forum for there fraudulent interest !!!
